Spoiler Alert: This article contains major spoilers for the finale of “Manhunt,” now streaming on Apple TV+.
The seven-episode historical miniseries “Manhunt” has come to a dramatic close. Secretary of War Edwin Stanton (Tobias Menzies) brought several of John Wilkes Booth’s conspirators to trial over Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, resulting in numerous hangings. Legally, he wasn’t able to thread the needle to prove a grand conspiracy, leaving him somewhat unsatisfied in his efforts to find justice for Lincoln. Yet Stanton has his next fight almost immediately after the verdict, as incoming President Andrew Johnson aims to have him removed from his position — leading the secretary of war to barricade himself in his office in protest.
Reflecting on the series — and especially the trial that takes up the majority of the final episode — Menzies speaks to how his animated facial expressions guide the audience through the highs and lows of prosecuting Lincoln’s assassins.

If you’ve been anywhere near a television in the last couple of years, odds are you’re already familiar with Dominic Burgess. The British actor broke through in 2017’s “Feud: Bette and Joan” as actor Victor Buono, before popping up in a number of memorable appearances — playing everything from serial killer John Wayne Gacy in “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” to an accident-prone man on “The Good Place” whose hideous red boots create an existential crisis for Chidi.
Most recently, the actor has been stealing scenes as Grayman, the stylist to the grande dames (including Kristen Wiig and Allison Janney) on Apple TV’s “Palm Royale” — and as Hamish Moss, a director on the rise on “American Horror Story: Delicate.” That is, he was on the rise before the April 3 episode, in which Moss met a gruesome death at the hands of Kim Kardashian’s devilish publicist.

Like an old friend you barely remember, if you ever really knew them at all, American Horror Story returned on Wednesday with the second half of Delicate — which is also a good word to describe the impression this season is likely to leave on its viewers.
Part 2 kicked off with a bit of backstory for Emma Roberts’ Anna, and in true AHS fashion, it was a total bummer. A flashback to White Plains, N.Y. in 1988 introduced us to Anna’s mother (played by a Gummer, if ever we’ve seen one), who died from a pulmonary embolism shortly after she was born.

Zac Efron was among the celebrities in attendance at the 2024 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix on Sunday (March 24) in Melbourne, Australia.
The 36-year-old actor was joined by his brother Dylan Efron (not pictured), and was even seen chatting with Sam Worthington inside the Red Bull Racing garage.
At one point, Sam was also seen talking with Red Bull team principle Christian Horner.
It was an unfortunate race for Red Bull as Max Verstappen‘s car faced a mechanical issue and was out of the race on the third lap. His teammate Sergio Perez landed in fifth place.
Winning the race was Carlos Sainz, who just had appendicitis surgery two weeks prior. He was followed by teammate Charles Leclerc, in a big 1-2 win for Ferrari, and McLaren’s Lando Norris in P3.
Other celebs in attendance at the Australian Grand Prix included fellow actor Eric Bana, former F1 driver Mark Webber,...

Our prayers and condolences go out to the family of Isabelle Lawrence Thomas, who died tragically and suddenly. She is the wife of Bradley Thomas, the Imperative Entertainment partner who is nominated for the Best Picture Oscar for Killers of the Flower Moon.
I had just seen Izzy and Bradley at an Apple Golden Globes party and I’m shaken to the core by this. She was a beautiful, kind and vibrant woman who would light up a room. Born in Bath and a graduate in Neuroscience from Oxford, Izzy moved to Los Angeles to follow her passion for storytelling and filmmaking. She went on to produce a documentary on the subject of kindness, and another more recently on pickleball. She was a member of The UCLA Center of Storytellers and Scholars Advisory Board.

In Cambridge-based developer Inkle’s A Highland Song, a young girl named Moira runs away from her mother’s house deep in the Scottish Highlands. Her destination: the distant lighthouse manned by her Uncle Hamish, to be (hopefully) reached before Beltane. That gives her about a week to platform through the hills, mountains, and caves between her house and her goal, scrambling up cliff faces and scouting out terrain from atop misty peaks.
The game is played from a 2D sidescrolling perspective, but the experience is hardly a simple matter of traveling from the left side of the screen to the right. As the game’s opening demonstrates by flying forward from Hamish’s lighthouse and through rugged terrain before stopping at Moira’s home, the segments of land are layered on top of each other. To advance, you must progressively move Moira from the foreground into the background, searching...

Another sunny day and another case bewilder the NCIS team in episode 3 of the series NCIS Sydney. In the previous episode, there was a snake responsible for the death of an American in Australia, and in this episode, there is a shark angle to the homicide. Jim, Mackey, and the others regroup and try to solve the complicated case, ultimately discovering the presence of some high-profile people. We are kept entertained by Bluebird’s quirky behavior while she helps crack the case. The use of technology is one aspect of the investigations that the episodes frequently bring forward. Previously, it was the gait-recognition equipment that had helped NCIS solve the case, and this time, there is a dive computer and the Gps tracker on a shark that simplify the case. To keep things light-hearted, Bluebird is given a surprise. While it was supposed to be her last week, as MacNamara,...

As the news arrived Thursday of the discovery of the Titan wreckage, cinematographer James Neihouse especially remembered his friend Hamish Harding, the billionaire businessman and explorer who was one of the five people on the sub, which disappeared on Sunday during a dive to Titanic.
They met during the making of 2020 documentary One More Orbit, which followed former NASA astronaut Col. Terry Virts and a team, including Harding, as they broke the ’round-the-world speed record for an aircraft flying over the North and South Poles, while celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Harding was a mission director as well as the doc’s exec producer. Neihouse, who served as director of photography, described Harding as “one of the driving forces” behind the project, having been instrumental in logistics, including securing the Gulfstream G650 ER jet that was used to break the record.

Hamish Harding’s stepson, Brian Szasz, attended a concert while his Harding is currently missing on the Titanic expedition submersible.
Szasz has been widely criticized for his actions, as many see him as insensitive while his stepdad faces death at the bottom of the Atlantic.
He defended his actions on Instagram in a story post saying, “Yes I went to @blink182 last night. What am I supposed to do sit at home and watch the news? Not sorry this band has helped me through hard time since 1998.”
He originally posted about the concert on Facebook captioning the photo, “It might be distasteful being here but my family would want me to be at the blink-182 show as it’s my favorite band and music helps me in difficult times!”
This post was recently deleted. “For privacy, my mom asked me to delete all related posts thanks for the support,” he wrote.

Some movies — many movies — are less than the sum of their parts. Downtown Owl, the story of a newbie teacher’s flailing and drinking and heartfelt, awkward encounters in a fictional North Dakota town, has the distinction of being precisely the sum of its parts. That’s not a knock; those ingredients are never less than engaging, driven by a playful and dynamic cinematic sensibility and a strong cast, Lily Rabe holding the center with vibrant luminosity and comic chops to spare. Rabe also steers the movie’s helm, alongside her life partner and fellow actor Hamish Linklater, and the tyro directors manage to thread a tricky needle with their first feature, navigating the chasm and the overlap between agitated and quiet, between cartoon brightness and angst.

Meg made a mistake by arresting Erika. She is just proving how much of an amateur she is, and that’s the only reason she is forgiven. If only arresting could solve cases. It’s up to Max now to speak to Erika and see if she can offer any more information related to the case. On the other hand, Macklin might not be involved in Sophie’s death, but there’s a lot more to him than meets the eye. Sophie’s laptop has more than the mulesing pics and needs to be analyzed further. And then there’s Oscar. That guy needs to be questioned properly by Max himself. Episode 4 of North Shore offers many inputs, and many will have consequences exclusive to Sophie’s murder. Let’s talk about it.

North Shore Episode 3, is the first episode to provide us with breadcrumbs that direct us toward the reason behind the death of Sophie Chalcott. Episode 2 ended with Abigail and Max getting a mysterious call and text, respectively. Episode 3 reveals who the contact is and the proof this person has to claim that he or she knows who killed Sophie.

Just as we had expected, the mysterious person was Erika. The laptop she hands Max is Sophie’s and apparently contains data that resulted in her murder. Whoever broke into their apartment earlier was after Sophie’s laptop, and she knew it. So, she was aware that what she had on the laptop was compromising intelligence. The fact that Abigail has told Erika that she cannot be arrested proves that Erika spoke to her as well, probably recently. In fact, Abigail is the one who gave Erika Max’s number.

It's one thing to study and practice medicine for decades and be able to talk about different conditions when it comes to children's health and development. It's another thing entirely to live through the experience as a parent.
In a new LiSTNR original podcast, Dr Golly and the Experts, launching today, April 26, Dr Daniel Golshevsky (Dr Golly) talks with ‘experts’ - parents who have, through necessity, become a specialist in their child's – or their own - health journey, from diagnosis to day-to-day treatment and beyond.
The stories are sometimes painful, often heart-warming and always inspiring and told through the voices and hearts of high-profile Australians as they talk to Dr Golly, a Melbourne-based paediatrician and father of three.
Given his unique position as former Chief Resident Medical Officer at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Dr Golly has treated many high-profile Australian families as they deal with medical conditions ranging from epilepsy,...

In addition, Hamish & Andy’s Remembering Project, now in its fourth season as an exclusive first run on LiSTNR, sees the pair delve into their meticulous archives from 2,500 radio shows across two decades to see if they can recall what was going on behind the scenes at that exact time. Hamish & Andy’s Remembering Project has evolved into a show of often incorrect recollections that make for an irreverent and hilarious trip down memory lane.

A brash young man visiting Ireland comes apart in Antonia Campbell-Hughes’ promising debut feature
Actor turned film-maker Antonia Campbell-Hughes goes out on a limb here with her feature directing project: a film which is also an experiment in mood and feeling. It’s an interesting if flawed movie, and I wasn’t sure some of the line-readings and the big dialogue scenes completely came off; but this is the work of a director with a real sense of landscape and place.
The scene is the north of Ireland, where a smooth and self-satisfied young businessman has arrived on a short visit: Hamish, played by Cosmo Jarvis, who is alienated from his father, played by Claes Bang, seen only on Zoom calls. Hamish has been bequeathed a remote cottage by an aunt in her will and now he wants to see it. From the outset, the mood is strange, oppressive: Hamish...

Cosmo Jarvis as Hamish in It Is In Us All. Antonia Campbell-Hughes: 'I didn't realise, but I would say that the tableau, the still scenario is what I find so evocative in what I write' Control, freedom and masculinity swirl in Antonia Campbell-Hughes' feature debut. She creates a commanding, brooding mood as Hamish (Cosmo Jarvis), who is visiting Ireland to settle his aunt's estate finds himself increasingly unmoored after a car accident sees him strike up an unsettling relationship with the much younger Evan (Rhys Mannion). We caught up with Campbell-Hughes when the film had its UK premiere at Edinburgh International Film Festival last month ahead of its UK release on September 23.
Amber Wilkinson: I'm interested in the way you're exploring the juncture between the way that one person's out of control is another person's freedom, when it comes to the differences between the older man, Hamish, and the younger Evan.

Can you experience a yearning that's close to nostalgia for a feeling you never had or a place you've never lived? Antonia Campbell-Hughes moody psychodrama explores the possibilities after an accident brings two men, who would normally never have met, into a shared orbit with a shared secret.
One of them is Hamish (Cosmo Jarvis), a well brought up suited city type, whose life is controlled down to the last trouser crease and splash of expensive aftershave. He's come to a remote part of Ireland, where mist and mud rule, following the death of his aunt to sort out the details, much to the chagrin of his father (Claes Bang), glimpsed on voice calls offering instruction but little comfort.
There's a sense of empty, negative space about Hamish even before the accident, an unwillingness to even engage with the flirtatious banter of a rental car clerk (Pauline Hutton). Perhaps that's why hurtling up an.

Katherine Parkinson (“The It Crowd”) and Youssef Kerkour (“House of Gucci”) have been tapped to lead upcoming Itvx comedy drama “Significant Other.”
The series, which will start filming in Manchester, U.K. next month, tells the story of Anna (Parkinson) and Sam (Kerkour). They are “two lonely neighbours in their mid-40’s, who embark on a hesitant, obstacle-filled relationship after drastic life events bring them together,” according to the logline.
After a drastic but fateful first meeting, their un-romantic relationship soon turns their lives around, with defensive Anna and emotionally vulnerable Sam finding they influence each other for the better.
Variety can reveal David Sant (“Spitting Image”) is set to direct the series, which is set to be produced by Quay Street Productions, part of ITV Studios. It is based on Yes Studios’ Israeli series of the same name, which was created by Dana Modan, Assi Cohen and Ram Nehari...
