It begins with the abduction of a girl. The scene is quiet and innocuous until it isn’t—a car rolling up to a young girl to ask for directions as children play in the background. The driver says, “Are you Anna?” before a man grabs her and shoves her in the car the instant she says, “Yes.” We watch as though a voyeur behind the trees, helpless to do anything but wait to see what happens while a boy on his bike (Dante Hoagland‘s Howie) rides into frame for the camera to follow home. These suburbs are small so his destination just happens to be next door to the house we’re about to spend the night within. That family’s new babysitter is also named Anna and suddenly we realize what’s gone wrong.

A slow-burn twist on the home-invasion story with a creepily classy atmosphere of dread and menace, but where it ends up is the stuff of hoary cliché. I’m “biast” (pro): nothing

We know that new, last-minute-replacement babysitter Anna (Sarah Bolger: My All American) is going to be a nightmare from the moment she shows up at the Thompson home. We know because we’ve seen what happened before she arrived. But as far as the Thompsons can see, she is a godsend: Joyce (Susan Pourfar: Alex of Venice) and Dan (Chris Beetem) get to head out for their anniversary dinner secure in the knowledge that the kids are in teenage-girl hands that come highly recommended, and 11-year-old Jake (Joshua Rush: Mr. Peabody & Sherman), 9-year-old Sally (Carly Adams), and 4-year-old Christopher (Thomas Bair...

In the upcoming horror-thriller film Emelie, Once Upon a Time and Spiderwick Chronicles star Sarah Bolger takes a turn for the dark as Anna, a sweet-faced babysitter who begins to exhibit disturbing behavior while looking after three young children (Joshua Rush, Thomas Bair and Carly Adams) during their parents' night out. In this HitFix-exclusive clip (embedded above and below), an initially innocent photo session takes a macabre left turn, after which you will be silently imploring Anna's young charges to get the hell out of Dodge. Directed by Michael Thelin, Emelie is slated for release in theaters and On Demand on March 4.

Whether it’s trashing the house, raiding the fridge or having guests over partaking in substances and acts that they shouldn’t really be doing, we have all heard those babysitter horror stories. Well, this particular story well and truly takes the cake. When their original babysitter can’t make it, the Thompson’s depend on her friend Anna (Sarah Bolger, The Lazarus Effect) to look after their children as they celebrate their anniversary. The thing is, Anna isn’t who she says she is. Her real name is Emilie and she’s going to give the Thompson’s and their children a night they will never forget. What starts off as innocent enough mischief turns in to a dark, cruel, emotionally and physically destroying series of events.
