Famous architect who had an exhibition at the Moma in 1971 and got many distinguished prizes in his field. His most recognized works are the structures of the Munich Olympic stadium and the German pavilion at Montreal Expo 67 World's Fair. He was awarded the Pritzker prize (the Nobel of architecture) a few days before his death.
He attended architecture school in Berlin and studied at the University of Virginia. In the US, he met his architectural heroes: Charles Eames, Richard Neutra, Eero Saarinen, and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
