India Carney will finally sing her swan song on "The Voice" this week, according to the predictions of Gold Derby users who give her 10-to-11 odds. (See full odds breakdown.) Denton Davidson — our user with the best score predicting "The Voice" this TV season — agrees: "Perhaps I’m a fool for placing her at the bottom when she has proven to be a Twitter-save beast, not only eliminating the top followed contestant (Corey Kent White) two weeks ago, but also fan (and my personal) favorite Kimberly Nichole last time. Am I just bitter she survived over my favorite contestant? Or am I blind to the supposed super gift she possesses?" -Break- See all of Davidson's current predictions here, plus his top rank in our "The Voice" leader boards. His current score is 79% accuracy. Jason Nolette is in second place at 71%, then Ngo Khang at 64%. Do you think you can beat them?...

So here we are and the countdown continues for season 8 of The Voice. After the Top 8 performed last time, America voted to advance five artists: Joshua Davis, Sawyer Fredericks, Meghan Linsey, Kimberly Nichole and Koryn Hawthorne. The final moments of the results show featured a frenzied Twitter vote between India Carney, Corey Kent White and Hannah Kirby. It was several sweaty, intense moments until a two-vote difference named India Carney as America's Twitter Save. And we all expelled a huge sigh of relief. Or at least I did.
While Corey Kent White is a joy to listen to, his Top 8 performance delivered only one solid moment of excitement. The competition was stiff and required something several levels higher than what Corey had been able to provide so far. Hannah Kirby -- while this gal has the energy and the power, her somewhat metallic vocal aesthetic lacks the universal appeal that...

Last week on The Voice, powerhouse divas dominated. This week, the script was flipped on the NBC singing competition. By the end of Monday night’s broadcast, the top two contestants on iTunes were a pair of soft-spoken males strumming acoustic guitars.
Sawyer Fredericks, the 16-year-old folk singer from upstate New York, reached Number Two on the download chart by this morning with his cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Southern rock classic "Simple Man." I wasn’t planning on watching the Mayweather-Pacquiao boxing match this weekend — I’m more of a Kentucky Derby kinda guy, to be honest — but I can’t imagine it being much bloodier than Top 8 Performance Night on The Voice.
Look, there’s no denying that Season 8 of NBC’s reality singing competition is as jam-packed with talent as Kim Kardashian’s pencil skirts are heaving with badonkadonk. It’s just that, with two more performers headed for a dinner date at The Rancor‘s basement apartment on Tuesday night, it seemed like nearly everyone was swinging hickory bats at melodies requiring butterfly-wing delicacy.

Hold onto your hats, fans of The Voice; we are back with the final eight artists competing for the season 8 title. Some very familiar and welcome faces will be gracing our screens. Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams, Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine have invited Cee Lo Green, Gwen Stefani (advising for both Pharrell and Christina) and Usher back to the studios at The Voice to advise the final eight. This puts a huge grin on my face because since last season, I cannot get enough of Gwen Stefani. Expect excerpts from each advising session as each artist prepares to take the stage for their seventh competitive performance.

The Voice‘s “Twitter Save” is a curious thing. It asks us to (possibly) veto the will of Monday-night voters in exchange for adding a heaping teaspoon of sriracha to the unflavored polenta that is a typical results-show telecast.
But riddle me this: What if NBC insisted you go to Myspace to rescue a member of the Bottom 3 from being sent to the guillotine? Or if you were forced to create a Vine (the absolute Worst) to make yourself heard? Would you go out to the nearest intersection and create a makeshift smoke signal in an effort to keep a particular singer in the mix?...

The Voice is not typically known for tough criticism. On any given night, the coaches’ critiques range from “Your vocal was smoother than a blanket made from a unicorn’s underbelly!” to “You took me through a dozen cycles of life, death and reincarnation (as a unicorn’s underbelly) in the course of a 90-second performance!”

I could say it’s not worth paying attention to The Voice coaches’ comments — which, expressed in paint colors, would range from Rose-Colored Glasses to Fawn(ing) Grey to Sugar-Coated.
But then you’d miss the subtle, sometimes hilarious subtext of Blake, Pharrell, Adam and especially Xtina when they deliberately avoid comments about actual singing — turning everything to pure comedy in the process. (Sample critique: Ms. Aguilera’s “You’ve got that girl-vote goin’ for ya” after mega-hot Corey Kent White hit maybe 60 percent of his notes at best while covering a Jason Aldean ditty.)

Will Hannah Kirby be able to survive yet another week on "The Voice"? Her coach, Blake Shelton, saved her on Wednesday's results show after she failed to receive enough votes from the viewers. In early results, Gold Derby users are predicting that Kirby may well be eliminated next Tuesday. She has odds of 5/6 of being one of the two people cut from the Top 12 as does Rob Taylor from Christina Aguilera's team. Brian Johnson is at 8/11 to potentially be cut from Adam Levine's team. Conversely, Shelton's other two artists -- Meghan Linsey (11/2) and Corey Kent White (33/1) -- should both be safe. And our users give odds of 14/5 that no Team Blake member will be eliminated. Do you agree with these predictions? How did you do forecasting the results for Team Blake and the other coaches this past week? The top 20 performed Monday and Tuesday while Wednesday's results show...

The Voice’s one remaining country artist has advanced to the Top 12 on NBC’s popular singing competition. Corey Kent White, the soft-spoken 20 year-old from Bixby, Oklahoma, is one of three finalists on Team Blake. During Monday night’s Live Playoffs show, the country crooner offered up a heartfelt rendition of “Make You Feel My Love,” the Bob Dylan-penned love song that would also become a hit for Garth Brooks in 1989.

Did you correctly predict the results on the first live week of "The Voice"? The top 20 performed Monday and Tuesday while Wednesday's results show saw a whopping eight artists cast off. If you knew who was going home, put your powers to use by entering our prediction contest. You could win our weekly prize of a $100 Amazon gift certificate and a place of honor on our reality TV leaderboards. It's fun and easy! -Break- The official Gold Derby odds predicted seven of the eight who would be eliminated. Adam Levine lost Nathan Hermida and Tonya Boyd-Cannon just as we predicted. Deanna Johnson and Joshua Davis won the public vote and Levine then chose Brian Johnson to survive. Likewise, we foresaw that Blake Shelton would lose Brooke Adee and Sarah Potenza. Corey Kent White and Meghan Linsey made it through while Shelton saved Hannah Kirby for another week. And we were correct in predicti.

The first results show of The Voice‘s live playoffs are a lot like Oprah’s Favorite Things: The prize isn’t exactly ideal, but boy, does the NBC reality competition hand it out in mass amounts.
“You get eliminated! And you get eliminated! And you get eliminated!” cries Carson Daly. “You’re all getting eliminated!”
Ok, maybe my re-enactment is a tad dramatic — a common problem of mine — but the basic concept remains true. By the end of Wednesday’s hourlong broadcast, the Top 20 of Season 8 had become the Top 12, booting eight hopefuls faster than Christina Aguilera can upstage...
