Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore were two of the hottest teen pop stars in the early 2000s. They also grew up to enjoy successful careers as adults.
Moore recently starred as the mom of “The Big Three” in the popular NBC drama This Is Us. Her six seasons as Rebecca Pearson earned her multiple awards, critical praise, and millions of fans who adored Jack and Rebecca’s love story.
After taking some time off, Duff returned to acting as Kelsey Peters in the hit TV Land sitcom Younger from 2015 to 2021. She now stars as Sophie in the Hulu series How I Met Your Father.
Both actors are now mothers and great friends.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers about the series finale of Younger, “Older,” which drops on Paramount+ today.
After winning the man of her dreams back from the crazed Quinn Tyler (Laura Benanti), who was about to whisk Charles Brooks (Peter Hermann) off to the tropics, Liza Miller (Sutton Foster) begins the series finale of Younger by waking up with her guy. However, that’s not where it all ends for the burgeoning publishing executive, and it’s not all tears either.
Before we tell you about Liza, in short Kelsey Peters (Hilary Duff) chooses to leave Empirical Publishing, to strike out on her own with her great Incubator concept, and Rob’s (Steven Good) not involved. No, he’s a jerk and wanted to take a finder’s fee from Kelsey after connecting her to venture capitalists. Also, while it appeared Quinn might be jumping on board again after...

With the final season of “Younger” underway, Hilary Duff’s slate was open, as she set her eyes on her next project. And after the hotly anticipated Disney Plus revival of “Lizzie McGuire” fell apart, she was in-demand.
The new mother of three was looking for a project that would shoot in Los Angeles, her home base, after spending years working coast-to-coast, filming “Younger” in New York.
Speaking for the first time since “How I Met Your Father” was announced, Duff tells Variety about her excitement to star in the sequel to “How I Met Your Mother,” which will stream on Hulu.
“After spending so much time on a show with people you love, it’s always hard to permanently say goodbye,” Duff says about “Younger” wrapping up its seventh-and-final season. “I’m not ready for it to end,” she says, but notes she is ready for “a job that shoots in L.

Himym creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas will return to exec produce the series alongside Aptaker and Berger.

The final season of “Younger” premieres April 15, but it’s not necessarily the absolute end for one of its beloved characters.
As Variety previously reported, ahead of the seventh and final season, “Younger” creator Darren Star began to develop a spinoff, which would be centered around Hilary Duff’s character, editor-turned-publisher Kelsey Peters. The potential spinoff still remains in early development, and Star is enthusiastic about the possibility for the new series.
“We’re talking about it. It’s a big question mark whether it’s going to happen,” Star says. “It could be great, but we never know if these things are going to happen until they’re going to happen.”
Star — the prolific TV writer, who also created “Sex and the City,” “Melrose Place,” “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Emily In Paris”– reveals that the spinoff would be set in Los Angeles, rather than New York City, where “Younger” is based.

After seven seasons, Younger is finally coming to an end this summer - but watching the final season will be a little different than the past seasons. Instead of being a TV Land original, Younger will be part of ViacomCBS's push to improve the library on the newly rebranded Paramount+. What does that mean for Younger viewers? You'll need a streaming subscription to watch it right away.
According to TVLine, the first four episodes will premiere on April 15 as Paramount+ exclusives. From then on, the show will switch to a weekly release schedule with one new episode every Thursday, along the same lines as many other recent streaming shows, until the series finale later this summer. If you don't have Paramount+ yet, there's another way to watch: Hulu subscribers will also be able to access these episodes on the same schedule as Paramount+ subscribers. It was a huge day for Paramount+, the new and revamped CBS All Access, which hit up the Television Critics Association with a wealth of big announcements.
We got series orders, series moving from other cable networks to call the streamer home, casting details, and so much more.
What is very clear about the announcements is that Paramount+ is going to be delving deeper into proven franchises with the aim of finding new hits with built-in audiences.
Disney+ has found much success with it, and we guess we should probably say the same about Discovery+, which has somehow managed to find even more success with the 90 Day Fiance franchise.
The new series pickups are Love Story, Fatal Attraction, Parallax View, Italian Job, and Flashdance.
The Hollywood Reporter first broke the exciting news in an interview with Paramount Television Studios President Nicole Clemens.

After six seasons of complicated love triangles, workplace drama, and some glamorous style, Younger creator Darren Star recently revealed the show's seventh season would likely be its last. "We are unofficially planning [season 7] as a final season," he told TVLine on Monday.
The TV Land show's sixth season aired last September, when its finale left viewers stressing over the never-ending Josh-Liza-Charles love triangle, as well as Kelsey's huge job offer. While Younger's upcoming seventh season was set to start shooting earlier this year, filming had been pushed back due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and production is now set to begin in a few weeks, according to Star. The creator also shared that since a lot of the upcoming episodes had been written before coronavirus hit, he's working on incorporating the real-life crisis into the last season.

The end is nigh for TV Land's Younger.
Despite the cable network not officially announcing the upcoming seventh season as the last for the dramedy, series creator Darren Star says that he is planning it as the end.
“We are unofficially planning [Season 7] as a final season,” Star told TVLine exclusively while promoting the forthcoming Emily in Paris.
Younger Season 6 concluded in September 2019, and shooting for the seventh was set to commence earlier this year.
Like many TV series, it was brought to a halt because of Covid-19, but the creator told the outlet that the series is set to return to production in the coming weeks.
TV shows such as Grey's Anatomy and The Good Doctor have announced plans to integrate the pandemic into their next seasons.
That will be tougher for younger, with episodes written before the pandemic, and with the season set to pick up in the aftermath of previous plots.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, ViacomCBS and Darren Star are developing a spinoff series that revolves around Duff's character, Kelsey Peters. A spinoff of Hilary Duff comedy “Younger” is in early development with creator Darren Star at ViacomCBS, a source tells Variety.
The TVLand half hour, starring Duff and Sutton Foster, is entering its seventh season, making it the cable network’s longest-running original scripted series. The show, which initially centered on Foster’s Liza Miller, a 40-year-old divorcee posing as a millennial in order to return to the book publishing industry, revolves around the friendship between Duff and Foster’s characters as they navigate their careers and relationships. Duff stars as editor Kelsey Peters.
The series was created, written and executive produced by Star. Last year, “Younger” ranked as the top cable comedy among women 18-49 and women 25-54.; TVLand said that the Season 6 premiere last June was its highest-rated season premiere ever among viewers aged 25-54 and women 25-54.
A TVLand spokesperson declined to comment on the development moves.

Sutton Foster is the ostensible lead of “Younger” as a secret 40-something book editor and divorced mom who continues to pass herself off as a hip millennial — even as the Big Apple-based sitcom created by “Sex and the City’s” Darren Star just kicked off its sixth season this week. But her winsome yet duplicitous charade is starting to get old, especially when more and more of her colleagues are already in on her ruse.
Meanwhile, Hilary Duff as her editing partner Kelsey Peters – who is in the know about Liza’s real age and situation — is an actual millennial and acts as a supportive mentor to her. Her randy sexual escapades with rival editor Zane (Charles Michael Davis) and author client Jake Devereux (Jason Ralph) on last year’s fifth season sometimes recall the adventurous bedroom proclivities of Kim Cattrall’s PR pro Samantha Jones.
