José Luis Elizalde was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. Graduated from Universidad ORT with a degree in Visual Communication and Graphic Design. His first short film "iWas" was awarded by the hollywood's directors Fede Álvarez and Rodo Sayagués as best short film at Festival de Cine de Montevideo and broadcast on New York Public TV (PBS).
His work "Goldie" was selected in Festival Internacional de Cine de Viña del Mar, nominated for best Latin American short film at the Jameson NotodoFilmFest and won as best drama short film at Festival de Cine de Montevideo. His latest work "El Turno" was selected for the official competition at various festivals like Festival Internacional Almería en Corto and Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente de Elche. The short film is currently broadcast by DIRECTV.
