Hardik Pandya Won’t Be Able To Play Ipl 2025’s First Match! (Photo Credit – Instagram)
The entire season of Ipl 2024 had been disappointing for Hardik Pandya. Amid a wave of negativity, the last match of the season gave a major setback to the player as he was imposed with a ban by Bcci for one match, which will impact the first match of Ipl 2025. Also, he has been slapped with a fine of a whopping 30 lakh, along with the other players of Mumbai Indians. Keep reading to know more!
After getting transferred to Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans via a trade deal, Pandya was made captain of the side by replacing Rohit Sharma. It stirred negative reactions, and Pandya faced the same wrath throughout the season. On top of that, Mumbai became the first team to get knocked out of the playoff race, thus making things worse for the star player.

Dubai, Aug 26 (Ians) Former South Africa cricketer Ab de Villiers has suggested Virat Kohli could be the answer to India’s No.4 conundrum at the World Cup.
Speaking on his Youtube channel ‘Ab de Villiers 360’, Kohli’s former Ipl teammate said, “We’re still talking about who will be the No. 4 batter for India. I’ve heard some rumours about Virat (Kohli) possibly taking up that position. I would be a big supporter of that.”
“I think Virat is perfect for No. 4. He can put the innings together, play any kind of role in that middle order. I don’t know if he would like to do that. We know he loves his No. 3 position; he’s scored all his runs there, but at the end of the day, if the team needs you to do something, play a certain role, you have got to put your hand up and go for it.

Hyderabad, May 19 (Ians) Star India batter Virat Kohli, who smashed a fantastic century and led Royal Challengers Bangalore to a thumping eight-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in an Ipl 2023 match, said it’s been a beautiful transition for him and Faf du Plessis for the side while batting at the top and making an impact.
The opening pair of Kohli and Faf Du Plessis have done the bulk of scoring for Rcb in Ipl 2023, which also happened on Thursday night
Chasing 187 to win, Virat looked in fine touch right from the beginning and hit his first Ipl ton (100 off 63 balls) in four years to put Rcb in pole position to make it to the playoffs. He stitched a massive opening partnership of 172 runs with Du Plessis (71 off 47) as Rcb chased down the target with four balls to spare.

Mumbai, April 16 (Ians) The best news for Mumbai Indians in their five-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 22 of Indian Premier League (Ipl) 2023 was the welcome return to form by middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav, the player with the ability to hit 360-degree shots, who can tear any attack to shreds on his day.
Suryakumar, who was in great form last year in white-ball cricket, becoming the top batter in Icc rankings and earning comparisons with the legendary South African batter Ab de Villiers had endured the ignominy of scoring zeroes in three consecutive ODIs against Australia in March and had poor Ipl 2023 with dismal scores of 15, 1 and 0 before finding form with a 43 on Sunday.
His 25-ball 43 and Ishan Kishan’s 58 helped Mumbai Indians overhaul Kolkata Knight Riders’ score of 185/6 built on a blazing 51-ball 104 by Venkatesh Iyer as Mumbai won by five wickets.

South Africa batting great Ab de Villiers feels that the side hasn’t been able to gel as a unit yet and added that the main players have to step up to put in match-winning performances. "It has been rocky start and not been easy for them. It is never easy when you start with an away game and you lose badly like they did. Especially, when you are fielding like they did in that first game. It is generally a sign of what the vibe in the squad is like."
"I know Ricky Ponting pretty well; he would have covered all the bases. You cannot look at the coaching staff; they would not have left a stone unturned going into this tournament. They made some good buys in the auction. It is a solid squad; it is possibly a tournament-winning squad," said de Villiers while responding to a question...

New Delhi, April 4 (Ians) Former India opener Virender Sehwag believes Chennai Super Kings skipper Ms Dhoni doesn’t go after milestones and said achieving the 5000-run milestone in the Indian Premier League (Ipl) won’t make any difference to former India captain.
During the match against Lucknow Super Giants, the Csk skipper crossed the 5000-run mark during his three-ball 12-run knock and became the first specialist wicketkeeper to reach the milestone in Ipl.
“If you ask Ms Dhoni, he will ask what difference it makes, whether he has scored 5000, 3000 or 7000 runs, the important thing is to win the trophy, which he has done. I don’t think he goes after or thinks about milestones,” Sehwag said during the post-match show on Star Sports.
Sehwag added that records and milestones are remembered post-retirement.
“I was also like that. Who knows how many runs have been scored but it is true that these numbers are remembered later.

Johannesburg, Jan 27 (Ians) Proteas batting legend Ab de Villiers believes that just like the Indian Premier League (Ipl) elevated his game to the next level, the SA20 will do so for young South African players.
De Villiers was just 24 years old when he played in the inaugural Ipl and was still finding his feet at the international level. But after sharing a dressing room with the likes of Glenn McGrath, Daniel Vettori, Shoaib Malik and Virender Sehwag at the Delhi Daredevils, De Villiers was transformed from a precocious talent to a global superstar in the years to come.

Mumbai, Nov 29 (Ians) Former India men’s team coach Ravi Shastri has been left in awe of Suryakumar Yadav’s pyrotechnics, with the ex-allrounder saying he is one of the best T20 players in the world and quite like Ab de Villiers at his peak.

Mount Maunganui, Nov 20 (Ians) If Ab de Villiers is defined for bringing the 360-degree style of play into cricket, then Suryakumar Yadav is taking that definition to another level with every belligerent outing in T20Is.

Mumbai, Nov 8 (Ians) South Africa’s Ab de Villiers is considered a perfect T20 player because of his ability to play 360-degree cricket, manufacturing unique shots and hitting the ball to all corners of the ground.
A lot of cricket experts consider India’s Suryakumar Yadav as his mirror image, especially for his 360-degree play in the last couple of years. At the ongoing Men’s T20 World Cup, Suryakumar Yadav has played two vital innings — one against Pakistan and the other against Bangladesh in their final Super 12 match.
De Villiers said, Sky needs to be more consistent over a period of time.

Mumbai, Oct 12 (Ians) Former South African pace bowler Dale Steyn has likened charismatic middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav’s emergence to Ab de Villiers, one of the most successful Proteas batter, adding that the Indian’s red-hot form will be crucial to the 2007 T20 World Cup champion’s success in the upcoming edition of the tournament in Australia.
Suryakumar has been in blazing form, with his success with the bat in the recently-concluded T20I series against Australia and South Africa pivotal to the hosts winning both the high-stakes fixtures.
“He’s (Suryakumar) the kind of player that likes to use the pace of the ball. He likes to get in behind the square. In places like Perth, Melbourne, all of these grounds, there is a little bit of extra pace on it. So, you can use the pace, you can hit on fine leg, behind and all along the carpet.
