- While Kathy was a Pekin resident (02 March 1998 - 13 May 2019), she registered for on-site professional training by The Center for Prevention of Abuse in Peoria, Illinois and was certified as a domestic violence victims rights advocate (March 2005) then invited to volunteer at its Pekin, Illinois location.

Kathy is a past weekly parent volunteer at her children's primary and middle schools (Pekin Public School District 108) from August 1999 through May 2010 and preschool (Tazewell Woodford Head Start formerly known as Tazewell County Head Start within the original Fern Wilson school building in Pekin, Illinois) from August 1999 to June 2004. - Kathy is a past member of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America (Kickapoo Council in Peoria, Illinois). She was a Brownie then a Junior from Fall 1972 (3rd grade) through Spring 1975 (5th grade).
