When the original "Star Wars" trilogy was first released in the late 1970s and early '80s, fans were starving for more things to watch in this world. With no streaming at the time, the only way to see your favorite film was to catch it in the theater or — if you or someone you knew were lucky enough to own a Vcr — you could rent or buy VHS tapes of the movies, although you still couldn't rent "Star Wars" until 1982 or purchase your own VHS until 1984.
Watching "Star Wars" on television was also a rare occurrence. Creator George Lucas was against showing the movies on TV and owned the rights to the sequels. Twentieth Century Fox was only able to negotiate TV rights for "Star Wars: A New Hope." They finally did so in 1984 when CBS aired the film for the first time as a special presentation, hosted by Mark Hamill.

With more than two years passing since the season two finale, The Mandalorian is returning for a third installment on March 1.
At the end of 2020, the Star Wars series’ finale episode left the series off on a high note, when a de-aged CGI Mark Hamill arrived on the scene as Luke Skywalker to save baby Grogu and begin his official Jedi training. While witnessing the emotional goodbye between masked protagonist Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu put a wrench in the hearts of many viewers, several fans lauded the final episode for its nostalgic appeal and the anticipation of the baby’s training. The question of Grogu’s whereabouts — and whether or not he would reunite with Din — would have been one of the most burning questions of all for the next season. That is, until The Book of Boba Fett solved that one over the course of three crossovers episodes with The Mandalorian.

This Star Wars article contains spoilers for The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
The wait has felt like an eternity, but The Mandalorian is finally back for its highly anticipated third season. After a three-year hiatus, bounty hunter Din Djarin and his little Yoda pal Grogu return to our TV screens for a whole new adventure that will see them explore new corners of the galaxy as well as visit a few old friends. The season picks up where The Book of Boba Fett left off and kicks off a (reportedly) year’s worth of storytelling in the “Mandoverse,” which will soon also include the spinoffs Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew.
Since three years is a long time between new seasons of a lore-heavy show like The Mandalorian, you may have quite a few questions heading into season 3. But we’ve got you covered with everything you need to...

The Book of Boba Fett has earned a second season, despite what haters would state. The fact that the show had haters indicates a few missteps. The lack of Boba’s appearance throughout the entire show is one mistake. The need to focus on Din Djarin is another. Unfortunately, despite being a great character who came first, Boba Fett’s show rode on the coattails of The Mandalorian. Instead of focusing exclusively on Boba, the show ended up detailing the story of Din, Grogu, and Luke Skywalker. Fennec Shand had her time and place as well, but the bulk of Boba’s story

The majesty and mystery of the "Star Wars" universe can really be traced back to one character: Boba Fett. Although the infamous bounty hunter was first introduced in the much-maligned "Star Wars Holiday Special," everyone really remembers his original appearance alongside Ig-88, Dengar, Bossk, Zuckuss, and 4-lom in "The Empire Strikes Back." Who was this cool and calculated mercenary? What's his backstory? For dyed-in-the-wool fans of the original trilogy, Boba Fett should have remained an enigma, shrouded in secrecy.
In the decades since he ushered Han Solo away to Jabba's Palace aboard Slave-1, Boba Fett has also come to represent everything that's wrong with the "Star Wars" universe. Fans now know his backstory and then some. He's an unaltered clone of his father, Jango Fett (Temuera Morrison), who re-emerges from the Sarlacc pit 5 years after "Return of the Jedi" to take over the criminal underworld on Tatooine. This Star Wars article contains spoilers for The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
It’s no secret The Book of Boba Fett turned out to be a polarizing entry in the “Mandoverse” last year. We’ve certainly written quite a bit about how the show ultimately does the classic bounty hunter a disservice by sidelining Boba midway through the story to address a cliffhanger from a completely different show. And a year on, many Star Wars fans can at least agree that using the series to provide a resolution to Din Djarin and Grogu’s emotional separation at the end of The Mandalorian season 2 was a mistake. And the choice didn’t just break Boba Fett’s show, but it also robbed The Mandalorian season 3 of this important reunion.

The final moments of "The Mandalorian" season 2 ripped our hearts out. For two seasons, we watched our bounty hunter with a heart of gold, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), find connection and purpose through young Grogu, but we were not prepared to watch them split so soon.
As Mando and his allies are cornered by Moff Gideon's (Giancarlo Esposito) army of Dark Troopers, a familiar face comes to their rescue — Luke Skywalker (a de-aged Mark Hamill), who sensed through the Force that Grogu needed his help. But the Jedi also had his own agenda; our beloved hero is creating a new academy for Force sensitives and wanted Grogu to train under his wing. In one of the most emotionally poignant scenes in "The Mandalorian" series so far, Din says his goodbyes to baby Grogu, lifting his own helmet (something deeply against his own religion) so that he can properly take another look at his surrogate child.

As the middle chapter of George Lucas' original "Star Wars" trilogy (the "Ot"), "The Empire Strikes Back" was designed to leave moviegoers wanting more. Unlike the first movie, the sequel paid homage to the serialized cliffhanger style of storytelling that inspired the saga -- but quite unlike those Saturday matinee serials, the next installment wasn't a week away. When viewers walked out of "Episode V," they were facing a three-year wait for the trilogy's resolution.
And many of them were steamed.
Lucas played particularly rough with his newfound fanbase in "Empire." Darth Vader dished out a lightsaber whuppin' to the saga's Jedi-in-training protagonist, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), slashing off the youngster's hand and informing him that he is, in fact, his father. But Luke got off relatively easy compared to Harrison Ford's Han Solo. The interstellar rogue got placed in suspended animation via carbonite, and was ferried back to...

The text from my mom said that they were coming to visit set from “3/16-4/18.” Presuming a typo, I was surprised to hear that my parents were only visiting for two days. Given we’d spent 12 years as a Navy family — my father is a former naval flight officer — I thought they might want to spend more time seeing the story of Jesse Brown, the Navy’s first Black aviator, come to life on the set of Devotion. I texted her back, mildly disappointed about their short visit, but my mom reaffirmed the dates, “3/16-4/18.” They were coming for a month — far more than I ever expected, and admittedly far longer than I initially desired, but ultimately far too short of a time I’ll forever cherish.

The Mandalorian was the first Disney+ live-action Star Wars series and the first stepping stone for the rest of the Star Wars universe to expand through a series of television shows that explore fascinating gaps and storylines throughout the known Star Wars universe. From The Mandalorian, we were gifted a series about the more famous Mandalorian armor-wearing bounty hunter, Boba Fett, through The Book of Boba Fett, after the character was reintroduced to the Star Wars universe after his apparent death about 40 years ago in Return of the Jedi. Below, we’ve detailed Boba Fett as a character, the Mandalorian

The first trailer for the next Indiana Jones movie has finally arrived. Earlier in the year, Harrison Ford dropped by the D23 convention to talk about the upcoming film and showed a quick teaser. Since then, fans have wanted to know more about the movie. With the trailer, we finally have some insights into what the film will be about. What do we know about Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny?
No Spielberg
So far, the film in the franchise has been directed by Steven Spielberg. This is not going to be the case with the new film. He was originally supposed to direct the film, but after numerous delays with the script and what direction the film should go, he decided to step back as director.
James Mangold was originally supposed to direct the Boba Fett movie, which got put on hold after the problems with Solo: A Star Wars Movie.

The long wait for The Mandalorian Season 3 got a little longer.
It was revealed earlier this year that the Pedro Pascal-led Star Wars series would premiere on Disney+ in February 2023.
However, Disney+ revealed Thursday at Brazil Comic-Con that fresh episodes would begin streaming on March 1, 2023.
It isn't much of a delay, but after waiting since December 2020 for fresh episodes, it's nice to know when we will be able to catch up with Din and Grogu.
Granted, the pair did appear in the spinoff series The Book of Boba Fett, which sent them both in a very different direction.
We won't delve into spoiler territory for Boba Fett, but you should watch it if you're a fan of The Mandalorian.
The trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3 dropped in September during the D23 Expo.
The clip teased Din being told that he is no longer a Mandalorian after showing his face to others.

On March 5, 2002, as residents of the Northeastern Chinese city of Changchun were settling in for the evening, an unprecedented thing happened. For the thousands of households tuned to any one of the eight state-run cable TV channels, a burst of static, followed by a prerecorded video defending the outlawed and widely vilified spiritual practice known as Falun Gong. These events and their bloody aftermath are brought to vivid life, partly in standard live-action documentary segments and partly in thrillingly animated sequences, in Jason Loftus’ “Eternal Spring,” Canada’s Mandarin-language submission for the international feature Oscar.
More affectingly personal than politically comprehensive, the film is mediated through the eyes and artistry of Daxiong, a renowned comic book artist born, like the movement’s founder and therefore Falun Gong itself, in Changchun. Forced to flee to Canada in the renewed round of persecution that followed the TV takeover (despite himself playing no...

Since the feast is finished and the shopping (in person and online) has begun, the fine folks at Marvel Studios hope that you’ll take a break for a tasty little seasonal treat. And it’s the most unusual of setting for such an offering as much of it takes place in the most distant reaches of the MCU. Another universe, really. You see, the Earth-born leader of our favorite group of planet-hopping (I’m using a line from the first flick) “A-holes” is not quite feeling the yuletide spirit. Oh, as mentioned earlier, little is the operative word as this is yet another Marvel Studios Special Presentation, following October’s Werewolf By Night. It’s not really feature-length and it’s too long to be considered a short subject (maybe a “super deluxe” home video extra). So fire up the egg nog and join the ragtag space crew for...

Boba Fett is a fascinating character even beyond the "Star Wars" fandom, as someone with so little screen time (up until very recently anyway) managed to become so damn popular. Even people who are only very casually familiar with "Star Wars" probably know that name. Now, we live in a world where the bounty hunter has his own TV show, "The Book of Boba Fett," presumably with more appearances to come on Disney+ in the future. But when/if that time comes, star Temuera Morrison has some thoughts about what he'd like to see with the character. In particular, he wants to get...
