Shrek has now been a part of pop culture for more than 20 years, which is a wild thought for any millennial who remembers when the Mike Myers-voiced swamp-dweller first arrived on the big screen in 2001. Though he'd previously been the focus of William Steig's 1990 picture book "Shrek!," it wasn't until the first movie debuted that the character became fully embraced by the mainstream. Since then, Hollywood has done its thing and produced a stultifying amount of "Shrek" sequels and spin-offs, to the point you'll probably need a refresher on the correct order to watch the Shrek movies before delving in. But if you wanted to just stick with the perennially charming original, we wouldn't blame you. Luckily enough, that very movie can now be found on the biggest streamer in the game.

The brand new medieval city builder title, Manor Lords, is right now the talk of the town in the gaming world. Released into early access on April 26, 2024, this real-time tactical game by indie developer Slavic Magic has garnered a significant player base in this short span. The game features some unique game modes, like Rise to Prosperity, Restoring Peace, and many more.
However, despite having several interesting features, mods have always been an exciting aspect of any gaming title. And Manor Lords is not an exception either. A recent mod of this game showcases exactly that.
Shrek in the Town of Manor Lords The Shrek mod in Manor Lords.
Recently, an X account named One Proud Bavarian shared a video of Shrek scaring everyone away from his swamp in Manor Lords. This is actually a mod of the famous animated fantasy character in the game.
This made my day today.

Mike Myers is set to play Austin Powers again, as Austin Powers 4 finally looks set to head towards the screen. More here.
Every since he walked off the screen as Austin Powers for the last time in 2002’s Austin Powers In Goldmember, Mike Myers has been fielding questions about a possible Austin Powers 4. Myers has taken on very, very few big screen roles in the last 20 years, but occasional rumblings have popped up about a new Austin Power adventure. Turns out, it might actually be happening.
Over at World Of Reel, it’s reporting that Austin Powers 4 has been developed in secret for at least the last year. The first three films were released by New Line Cinema, which has been entirely swallowed up by Warner Bros now. Warner Bros will this be backing the new film.
Jay Roach, the director of the original trilogy, is said to be back on board.

As summer approaches (for the Northern Hemisphere at least), Netflix is set to premiere a fresh season of one of its biggest hits.
Brigerton season 3 is set to arrive on May 16 and will debut a “new crop of debutantes” into the regency drama fray. Other original series of note this month include Indian drama Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar (May 1), the Jeff Daniels-starring A Man in Full (May 2), and intriguing Korean title The 8 Show (May 17). Of course, Netflix is also rolling out a suite of true crime docs and docuseries as well. Chief among those options is Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal on May 15.
It’s the movie side of things where Netflix is feeling particularly lively though. May 3 sees the arrival of Jerry Seinfeld Pop Tart comedy Unfrosted. That will be followed by rom-com Mother of the Bride (May 9) and the Jennifer Lopez-starring Atlas (May 24).

Netflix will be playing catch-up with its slate of films in the latter half of 2024 due to last fall’s dual union strikes. And their slate of animated projects is set to be previewed at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France this June. Last year, the streamer had achieved a high-profile attendance for their showcase of Nimona along with their teasers for Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget and Blue Eye Samurai. According to Deadline, this year’s presentation will feature directors Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham as they give a sneak peek of Aardman’s upcoming new Wallace & Gromit project, which has yet to have an official title.
Additionally, just after his newest sci-fi epic, Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver, debuts on Netflix, Zack Snyder will be joined by executive producer Deborah Snyder and Xilam Animation Director Slimane Aniss to reveal clips from his...

Thanks to a recent news blog on Steam, we now know that Larian Studios is working on adding its own modding tool into the game to allow gamers to alter certain aspects of the game.
At the moment, it is not known how in-depth this new system will be, but thanks to the modding community, it is likely that gamers will soon see videos all over YouTube regarding characters like Shrek, Thomas the Tank Engine, and so many more making their way into Baldur’s Gate 3.

No, it's not 2004, but Shrek and Donkey are partying like it is. "Shrek 2," the beloved hit sequel to the original DreamWorks animated classic, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year -- next month, to be more exact -- and Universal Pictures decided to celebrate by re-releasing the film in theaters over the weekend. While it didn't make a fortune or anything, the movie did end up making its way back into the top ten on the box office charts.
Playing on over 1,500 screens, "Shrek 2" pulled in $1.35 million over the weekend, which was just enough to give it the number nine spot on the charts. That put it just ahead of "Suga | Agust D Tour 'D-Day' The Movie" and just behind "The Long Game" ($1.39 million), both of which were newcomers in theaters. It was Alex Garland's buzzy "Civil War" ($26 million) that took the lion's share of attention, landing...

"Shrek" was a very important movie in animation history. It provided DreamWorks with its first true breakthrough hit, taking in $492 million in 2001. It ensured that Disney would have meaningful competition in the animation space for years to come, which has only been furthered in recent years with the dominance of Illumination in the marketplace. For DreamWorks though, it birthed what would become the studio's flagship franchise, one that has generated more than $3 billion since its inception. That franchise's biggest moment came in 2004 when "Shrek 2" hit theaters.
The animation house founded by former Disney executive Jeffrey Katzenberg hit a home run by pairing Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy as Shrek and Donkey in the first film, in no small part thanks to the stellar supporting cast.

Brand collaborations are nothing new, but I'm always impressed with how Lush consistently goes above and beyond with not only the designs of pop culture-inspired products but also the dedication to in-universe scent profiles and embracing gimmicks that feel right at home with inspiration for the line in the first place. I still dream about the Princess Peach products from last year's "Super Mario Bros. Movie" line, but their new line inspired by DreamWorks Animation's "Shrek" franchise is certainly filling the void. If 2023 was the year of the clean girl aesthetic, 2024 is definitely the year of the swampy girl. Lush is ready to provide that contrast and set a new trend, where we're all embracing our inner ogre — every last oniony layer of it. Shrek is love. Shrek is life. Here's what Lush had to say about the line:
"Inspired by Shrek's journey from a self-loathing to a self-accepting ogre,...

A few months ago, I was scrolling through TikTok when I saw a video of Shrek on a giant screen at a rave, happily gamboling through his swamp to a remixed version of “Boom Boom Boom Boom.” Then the beat drops, and he starts stomping and projectile vomiting all over the audience, lasers shooting out of his eyes. It’s truly a terrifying sight, particularly if you’re on molly, as many of the attendees likely are. But judging by their reaction in the video, they can’t get enough of it.

It takes The Matrix about three minutes to become the coolest thing you’ve ever seen. That’s when Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) evades a cop by breaking his arm, punching his throat, and then freezing mid-air so the camera can whip around her before she unleashes a kick that sends him across the room. Three minutes. And everything changed.
But the most impressive part may be the fact that the amazing stuff doesn’t stop there. For the 117 minutes that follow, The Matrix directors Lana and Lilly Wachowski offer an improbable mix of kung fu action, Continental philosophy, and fin de siècle cool. It’s no wonder their movie became a hit in theaters and on video. Nor is it any wonder that so, so many movies and TV shows borrowed from The Matrix, at once cementing the original film’s legacy while also cheapening its effect. In immediate years...

Jean-Paul Vignon, a French actor and vocalist who frequently lent his Gallic accent to Hollywood productions, died of liver cancer on March 22 in Beverly Hills, Calif. He was 89.
Among his notable work, Vignon lent his voice to Marc Webb’s romantic comedy “(500) Days of Summer” as the French narrator. His voice appears when the lovelorn Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) goes to the movies by himself after Summer (Zoey Descanel) breaks up with him, only to fall asleep and dream of a black-and-white French film that speaks to his “suffering.”
Vignon voiced one of Robin Hood’s Merry Men in the first “Shrek” film, part of a group of antagonists encountered by Shrek, Fiona and Donkey along their journey to Duloc. He also voiced the character Gena in the animated feature “The Adventures of Cheburashka and Friends,” which features the titular Russian cartoon character.

Taking to Instagram, Shekinah shared a carousel of photos capturing what she’s been up to lately.
The first slide was an up-close photo of herself with her eyes closed, wearing a bandage across her nose and showing off fresh stitches near her hairline.
Shekinah didn’t specify what she had done to her face, but we already know the 43-year-old just underwent her third nose job, hence the nose bandage.
She’s also had two facelifts, a brow lift, upper blepharoplasty, lip filler injections, regular Botox injections, two nose jobs, and two breast augmentations.

Sydney Sweeney decided to share her “five-point plan” to break into Hollywood during her Saturday Night Live monologue, as well as joke about the romance rumors with her former co-star Glen Powell.
The actress kicked off her hosting debut, quipping, “You have seen me in Anyone But You and Euphoria. You definitely did not see me in Madame Web,” following the film’s brutal critic reviews. “But I do have a new film coming out called Immaculate. I play a nun, so it’s perfect casting,” she added.
Sweeney went on to express that she wanted “everyone to get to know the real me” on Saturday, saying, “I feel like people only see me as the girl on TV who screams, cries and has sex. Sometimes it’s all three at the same time.”
The Euphoria star shared a bit about growing up in her hometown of Spokane, Washington, and...

Liam Gallagher is being, well, very Liam Gallagher when it comes to Oasis’ nomination for the Rock Hall’s class of 2024. In other words, he did a take-down of the institution with his usual dry wit and candor via social media.
“Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of Bumbaclarts,” he posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, after the nominees were announced Saturday. In a series of posts between fans who responded to his quip, he berated the hall, saying, “there’s something very fishy about those awards,...

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced today that they will begin presenting a new Oscar category, the first in over twenty years. The new award will recognize achievement in casting and will first be presented during the 2026 Oscar ceremony. Prior to this, the last new Oscar category was Best Animated Feature, which was announced in 2001, with Shrek taking home the inaugural award.
In a statement, current Academy president Janet Yang and CEO Bill Kramer said: “Casting directors play an essential role in filmmaking, and as the Academy evolves, we are proud to add casting to the disciplines that we recognize and celebrate. Until today, Animated Feature was the youngest category. Shrek was its first winner .
Though some people say the Oscars already have too many categories, the Academy disagrees. Today, AMPAS announced a new awards category meant to honor casting directors. It won't be an Honorary or Special Achievement Oscar like it happened in the early days of such races as International Film and Visual Effects, but a regular competitive category. We'll see the first nominees for this new prize in two years' time, during the season of the 98th Academy Awards, honoring 2025 releases. One assumes the Board of Governors will use that time to establish specific rules and eligibility requirements…...

It's been 14 years since Illumination entered the movie scene with "Despicable Me," and in that time, the film series has become the highest-grossing animated franchise ever. It has done so on the back of catchy tunes, memorable characters, a fun story of a villain accidentally (and reluctantly) finding redemption, and also the cultural phenomenon that is the Minions.
After the second movie in the franchise, we've also seen a new spin-off movie in between each new "Despicable Me" film that's centered on the Minions and their adventures before they met their best friend and overlord Gru. Now, after a seven-year absence, Gru is finally back -- and this time, he encounters an even greater challenge than when he tried to steal the moon. Now, he's a father.
That's right, following the monumental success of "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," Illumination is taking the "Shrek" route with Gru and the Minions by giving Gru a family.

Many actors had some of their best and most interesting interviews with the late Barbara Walters. But there was a point where the iconic journalist grew discouraged with covering Hollywood stars.
Barbara Walters didn’t want to chase the tabloids anymore Barbara Walters | Stephen Lovekin/WireImage
Walters was known for her versatile and in-depth interview coverage. She’d spoken to a variety of different subjects, all ranging from politicians to celebrities, and never shied away from asking hard-hitting questions. But overtime, the 20/20 host grew disillusioned with talking to celebrities. This was because celebrity news became more accessible at the time, which meant Walters had a lot more competition than before.
“It seems to permeate most of the tabloids and the magazines and now you have six or seven entertainment programs,” she once said according to The Hollywood Reporter. “You didn’t used to have that. It’s a different...

It's easy to overlook just how big the "Shrek" movies are given that they are mostly a giant meme factory and a source for a controversial Scottish accent. This is a franchise that changed animation and showed DreamWorks Animation was a powerhouse that could compete with Disney and Pixar. It competed for the Palme d'Or at Cannes, the first animated film in almost 50 years to do so. It won the first Oscar for Best Animated Feature and helped cement the rise of computer animation. There is a reason this is the first animated movie of the 21st century to be selected for preservation in the National Film Registry.
Since then, "Shrek" has grown into a giant franchise, with spin-offs, musicals, and much more ... including a very popular themed rave and even custom Crocs. This is why it might be tough for casual movie watchers to keep track of which movies to watch,...

Heidi Klum is known for pulling off unbelievable (and unpredictable) Halloween costumes. During an interview with Jimmy Fallon on Friday’s airing of “The Tonight Show,” Klum revealed a few details about this year’s ensemble.
She teased, “It’s gonna be gigantic, and I have to close a few streets down here in Manhattan, which is very hard to do, by the way.”
Fallon’s interest was piqued. As audience members laughed, he asked, “Are you a Transformer? Like an 18-wheeler?” in reference to Optimus Prime. As Klum stumbled over her words, he added, “Like a robot? A giant truck robot.”
“I guessed it,” he added triumphantly.
“No, you didn’t,” Klum replied.
The model has been throwing her annual Halloween party since 2000, when she dressed as a dominatrix, sporting accessories that also drew comparisons to Hot Topic employees.
Other costumes of note have included 2001’s turn as Lady...

Shrek premiered in 2001 and created a legacy that still exists in 2023. The first movie launched a mega-successful franchise fronted by some of the industry’s most beloved actors.
The animated series flipped traditional fairytales on their heads with an irreverent sense of humor and surprising twists and turns. The star-studded cast of industry heavyweights didn’t hurt, either.
Starring Mike Myers as the grumpy ogre with a heart of gold, Eddie Murphy as his sidekick and Cameron Diaz as the plucky love interest, it was a guaranteed success.
Believe it or not, Shrek premiered in theaters 22 years ago now. We decided to look back and revisit the cast to rank them based on their estimated net worth. There were quite a few ties, including two stars who came in at the top spot after amassing approximately $200 million a piece!

Bad Bunny dressed up like Shrek and forced his Saturday Night Live co-workers to act out a sequel to the beloved animated franchise in a sketch produced by the show’s Please Don’t Destroy crew.
In what could have doubled as a Halloween episode sketch, Benito suddenly emerges in the Please Don’t Destroy office in full Shrek costume, asking the trio to participate in a reading of his script Shrek: Infinity, starring the ogre, the donkey, Puss in Boots and, for some reason, Michael Jackson.

For the second week in a row, Saturday Night Live was littered with special guest appearances. Joining host and musical guest Bad Bunny on last night’s episode were The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, Lady Gaga, Pedro Pascal, and former SNL cast member Fred Armisen.
Jagger, who previously hosted the show himself in 1978 and 2012, appeared in two sketches alongside Bad Bunny: a spoofing of Sister Act and a sketch in which he and Benito co-starred in a telenovela. Lady Gaga was on hand to introduce Bad Bunny’s performance of “Un Preview,” while Pascal translated the musician’s monologue and later reprised his role in “Protective Moms” (the initial sketch aired earlier this year). Meanwhile, Armisen appeared in a pre-recorded short called “Age of Discovery.”
Other sketches saw Bad Bunny dress up as Shrek with the Please Don’t Destroy guys, and participate in a rap battle opposite Mikey Day.

Bad Bunny made his SNL debut tonight and it’s every Latin American’s Spanglish dream come true. From his shout-out to Sabado Gigante—the Spanglish-language game show that aired for 53 years on Univision—to his hilarious collaborations with Marcello Hernandez and special appearances by fellow Latinos Fred Armisen and Pedro Pascal, as well as fellow superstars, Mick Jagger and Lady Gaga.
Networks and streamers take note. This is one of many great examples of what our community wants to see more of in TV and film. While many of us did grow up watching Spanish-language television, we live in a very bilingual world. Witnessing Bad Bunny on an American TV institution such as SNL was not only refreshing but absolutely hilarious. Bravo.

I’m Donkey, and I’m making magic with Airbnb to roll out the welcome mat this October while I’m swamp-sitting for Shrek,” reads Donkey’s introduction. “I have to be honest – I love everything about the swamp: the boulder out front, the modest interiors, the seclusion (ideal for singing karaoke late into the night), you get the picture. I can’t wait for guests to experience this muddy slice of paradise for themselves.“

If there's one thing that "Shrek" was famous for, other than being a big, green ogre, it was keeping people out of his cozy little swamp in the middle of the forest. But don't let that stop you from paying the muddy locale a visit, because Shrek's Swamp is now available as an official, real-life Airbnb location that you can stay in for a couple days. Hosted by Donkey, you can stay overnight in Shrek's hut, stay up late, swap manly stories, and in the morning, he's making waffles.

Just to be clear, this is not a joke. Calendars turning from summer to fall means chillier weather, pumpkin spice everything, and of course Heidi Klum’s annual Halloween parties.
The America’s Got Talent judge has been throwing the annual bashes for more than two decades. The parties are now synonymous with the holiday as is Klum who many refer to as the Queen of Halloween. Here’s more on why the supermodel started throwing the parties that have become legendary, plus how she seems to outdo herself every year with her costume choices.

What are you doing in my swamp?! Well, if you've made it this far, you're probably wondering how you can get your hands on the hideous monstrosities pictured above. That's right, Crocs already had the market cornered on clunky shoes that just so happen to be incredibly convenient and unbelievably comfortable, but now they've reached a new high (low?) by delivering a pair of rubber slip-on clogs inspired by everybody's favorite green ogre from the DreamWorks Animation movie franchise "Shrek."
The limited edition "Shrek" Crocs use the Classic Clog design but enhance it with a neon green color and a furry brown heel strap. But that's not all. The "Shrek" Crocs also feature the ogre's antenna-like ears and a bulbous nose as Jibbitz charms on the foot of the shoe.
