Netflix is in negotiations to pick up the Brett Ratner-directed mockumentary "Soul Soul Soul: The Murray Murray Story" starring Eddie Murphy.
Murphy will play Murray Murray, a soul singer from the early 1960s and a legend in his own mind. He puts his old band back together and tries to take down hip-hop when a hot artist samples his hit song from 1962.
Chris Case penned the script while Brian Grazer and Tyler Mitchell will produce.

"The Fast and the Furious" scribe Gary Scott Thompson has setup the action-thriller "Champion" at Storyscape Entertainment and Pioneer Pictures.
The original screenplay is based on real events and explores a centuries-old tradition within Thailand's prison system where inmates compete in state-sanctioned Muay Thai tournaments to win early release.
The story an American locked up abroad who must learn Muay Thai in order to fight for his freedom. Bob Cooper, Richard Saperstein, Robert Kravis, Tyler Mitchell and Karl Herrmann will produce.
