There’s an abundance of treats offered by director Matthew Warchus’ staging of A Christmas Carol – like Andrea Martin dressed as a Victorian caroler mingling with the audience at Broadway Lyceum Theatre, handing out Clementines and cookies before curtain – but perhaps the best is the revelation that the Dickens chestnut can still inspire such a vibrant, compassionate and timely telling.
Adapted by playwright Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), and starring Campbell Scott as Scrooge, Martin and Lachanze as the Ghosts of Christmas Past and Present, respectively, this Carol (with different casts) has become something of a holiday tradition at London’s Old Vic. Broadway should be so lucky.
With a few moments of immersive theater – a feast in Act II cleverly and playfully makes its way to the (imagined) threadbare Cratchit home in a delightful manner than won’t be spoiled here – this Carol is presented on a dreamlike,...

What a beautiful tribute. Earlier this week, Life & Style reported that Dance Moms alum Abby Lee Miller was diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma— a form of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma — after being hospitalized for paralysis of the neck down. As expected, her fans and loved ones — including Sarah Hunt and her mother, Christy Hunt — are doing whatever they can to support her. The mother-daughter duo exclusively opened up to Life & Style about how the Abby Lee Dance Company elite competition team paid tribute to the former instructor at a recent competition. While competing in Pittsburgh over the weekend, the 12-year-old and her teammates — Maddie, 14, Erica, 16, Alaina, 12, and Christina, 14 — "proudly danced together wearing #AbbysArmy Ribbons" and dedicated "their entire competition to the Aldc and Miss Abby’s fight against Burkitt’s lymphoma," Christy and Sarah told Life & Style. The girls placed first overall in the Teen Division under the direction of Miss Abby and Gianna Martello.

Sticking together! JoJo Siwa confirmed that she paid a visit to her former dance teacher, Abby Lee Miller, in the hospital just after the 51-year-old had been diagnosed with cancer. Unfortunately, the Dance Mom's matriarch — who was first hospitalized for a spinal infection that caused her to become paralyzed from the neck down — isn't in good condition at the moment. "I actually went to visit her yesterday — she was not good by any means," JoJo told People. "I know what she has is awful, but she's in good spirits so that's really good. It's hard, but she is definitely, definitely, definitely the strongest, toughest person that I know, and so I think she'll be good." While JoJo admitted that it was "heartbreaking" to see Abby like this, she still plans on going back to visit her again. "We’ll go see her tomorrow or sometime next week," the 14-year-old explained.

She's a mess! Abby Lee Miller was spotted for the first time since getting her nails done after leaving prison, and she was almost unrecognizable. TMZ caught the former Dance Moms star walking out of the Residential Reentry Center — a halfway house where she is serving the rest of her jail sentence — as she got into a car that was bringing her to the hospital for treatment. This is the second time Abby has been transported from the reentry facility to an La hospital in less than 24 hours to treat an "unspecified medical complaint" which was later learned to be hypothyroidism. And while Abby was in too much pain to speak to the paps before heading to treatment, TMZ caught up with her weight loss surgeon — Dr. Michael Russo — who explained what kind of pain she's in. She's back in full force! Abby Lee Miller was transferred from prison to a halfway house recently, and she took her very first trip out in public on March 29. So where did she go? To do the most Abby thing ever: to get a manicure and pedicure in West Hollywood! Watch the video above to see all of the pics from the outing. Abby needs to get permission to leave the halfway house and has a curfew, but that didn't seem to bother her any. She looks much slimmer and seems to be glowing from her newfound freedom. She gave a big cheesy grin to photographers and even flashed her pink mani. While she can't get back to teaching dance quite yet, she definitely has it on her mind. The Dance Moms star rocked an Abby Lee Dance Company t-shirt. A post shared by Abby Lee Miller (@therealabbylee) on Mar...

She's just under two months away from leaving the slammer! According to a new report, Abby Lee Miller had been transferred to a halfway house to finish up her prison sentence and will officially be released on May 25. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the disgraced Dance Moms star has been moved from the Victorville, CA prison where she's been since last July. She's now at the Residential Reentry Center in Long Beach. According to the site, "The facility will provide Abby with a safe, structured, and supervised environment where she'll be given employment counseling, job placement, and financial management assistance." Abby Lee Miller's inmate record. In January, reports broke that Abby would leave prison on Feb. 20 to finish out the rest of her sentence in a halfway house in Van Nuys. However, Abby admitted that that wasn't necessarily true, though she hoped to get out of the clink early.
