Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name” remains one of the most beloved classic rock songs of the 1980s. Bon Jovi’s co-writer said he wrote it in a place that reminded him of an infamous scene from a horror film. Fascinatingly, the lyrics of an earlier Bon Jovi song partially inspired “You Give Love a Bad Name.”
Bon Jovi’s ‘You Give Love a Bad Name’ has a connection to Kiss
Desmond Child is a professional songwriter who became famous for working with classic rock acts like Alice Cooper (“Poison”), Aerosmith (“Dude Looks Like a Lady”), and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (“I Hate Myself for Lovin’ You”), as well as pop singers such as Katy Perry (“Waking Up in Vegas”), Ricky Martin (“Livin’ la Vida Loca”), and Ava Max (“Kings & Queens”). One of his most famous songs is Kiss’ disco/hard rock smash “I Was Made for Lovin’ You.

Doug Richards, a former member of Wet Leg and ex-boyfriend of the band’s current vocalist Rhian Teasdale, has accused the indie rock breakout stars of not crediting him for songs he said he co-wrote.
In a new interview with The Times UK, Richards explained that he formed Wet Leg with Teasdale and Hester Chambers in 2019, but was kicked out of the group once his seven-year, on-and-off relationship with Teasdale came to an end for good.
Richards’ first gripe with his former bandmates is the name they continue to use. Teasdale and Chambers have shared a couple origin stories of “Wet Leg” — one being a game of combining two random emojis together, another referencing hometown slang — but Richards apparently remembers it differently.
“For years me and a couple of friends had lists of stupid band names,” he said. “Anytime you’d think of a funny combination of words you’d just write it down.

“Ur Mum,” a highlight from Wet Leg’s killer 2022 self-titled debut, fades out into a chorus of “do do do”s after singer Rhian Teasdale shows off her “longest and loudest scream.” When the buzzy indie band played the track at Coachella this weekend, Dave Grohl ran on stage to show off his iconic yowl.
At Wet Leg’s live shows, “Ur Mum” has become a moment for the band to play around during the extended scream bridge: each member of the band yells, as does the crowd, for even longer than the single’s studio version. Video of the Coachella performance shows Grohl taking advantage of the chaos: The livestream camera remains on Teasdale until, all of a sudden, Grohl is seen screaming at the mic.
Foo Fighters didn’t perform at Coachella this year, so the moment becomes even funnier when you realize Grohl was just at the festival to hang out.

Lewis Capaldi has admitted that he thought he was dying before he was first diagnosed with vertigo.
The “Someone You Loved” singer recently told fans he’s “not been very well” and explained that he had been suffering with vertigo.
While appearing at a screening in Everyman Cinema in Glasgow ahead of his forthcoming documentary How I’m Feeling Now, the 26-year-old said that he was “alive and living”.
“I’ve not been very well. I’ve got vertigo,” he said (via Mail Online).
“So I’m spinning but I’m smiling. I’m not dying so it’s good. I did think I was for a couple of days but luckily I’m here,” he added.
Vertigo is the term for the sensation that you are spinning when you’re not, commonly associated with feeling dizzy and sick.
Last September, the Scottish singer announced that he had Tourette’s syndrome.

Nine years ago, Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner waxed poetic about rock ‘n’ roll in one of the more memorable awards show speeches in recent memory. Upon winning Album of the Year at the 2014 Brit Awards, Turner remarked, “That rock and roll, eh? That rock and roll, it just won’t go away. It might hibernate from time to time, sink back into the swap.”
“I think the cyclical nature of the universe in which it exists demands that acquiesce to some of its rules. But it’s always waiting there, just around the corner, ready to make its way back through the sludge and smash through the glass ceiling, looking better than ever,” Turner continued. “Yeah, that rock and roll, it seems like it’s faded away sometimes, but it will never die. And there’s nothing you can do about it…”

Wet Leg got bleeped in the live broadcast of the 2023 Brit Awards after one of their bandmembers said “f*** the Tories” during their acceptance speech for Best Group.
The indie band had earlier won the prize for Best New Artist, and performed a rendition of their single “Chaise Longue”.
Accepting the Best Group prize, bassist Ellis Durand delivered the speech and ended with the quip “f*** the Tories” before leaving the stage to loud applause.
The “Chaise Longue” hitmakers beat The 1975, Arctic Monkeys, and Nova Twins to take home the Brit for British Group of the year.
Other winners on the night include Harry Styles, Becky Hill and Fontaines DC.
