Only one episode remains in Season 3 of “Chucky,” and what a bloody road it’s been so far, especially for actor Devon Sawa. The actor has now officially died twice on screen this season, pulling double duty as President James Collins and body double Randall Jenkins.
If you thought Chucky’s ruthless eye-gouging of the President was bloody, this week’s Episode 7 traps Randall Jenkins in an elevator that feels straight out of an iconic horror classic.
Bloody Disgusting spoke with series creator Don Mancini and actor Devon Sawa about that ultra-bloody death sequence and how the actor inspires Mancini’s writing on the series.
Mancini explains, “Devon’s a bit of a muse. Idle Hands and Final Destination is where my Devon Sawa fandom started, like a lot of people; although yours may have started with Casper. I was a bit too old for that. But it’s really...

Not even death can slow Chucky in “There Will Be Blood,” the penultimate episode of “Chucky” Season 3. With the killer receiving a mortal blow in the last episode, Charles Lee Ray (Brad Dourif) can now take full advantage of the White House’s bizarre supernatural purgatory, leaving him free to continue his current reign of terror as a ghost. While that spells trouble for Jake Wheeler (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Bjorgvin Arnarson), and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), it makes for an outrageously satisfying bloodbath heading into next week’s finale.
“There Will Be Blood” covers a lot of ground in short order, with Charles Lee Ray confronting his maker over his failures before he can continue his current path of destruction. Lexy, Jake, and Devon continue their desperate bid to find Lexy’s sister, which means seeking answers from the afterlife. They’re in luck, considering Warren Pryce (Gil Bellows) enlists...

Fans of the iconic killer doll rejoice, as the mastermind behind the Child’s Play franchise, Don Mancini, has confirmed he is crafting another cinematic chapter for Chucky. This revelation comes amidst the successful run of the Chucky TV series, which is now in its third season. The news of a new film installment is particularly thrilling for those who’ve followed the murderous doll’s journey from its inception. During his appearance on the Scream Dreams Podcast, alongside horror icon Barbara Crampton, Mancini teased, I’m actually in the early stages of working on a new Chucky movie. Don Mancini, creator of Chucky, is discussing a potential fourth season and has an idea of where to take the show despite not knowing what the future holds for it.
The Syfy and USA Network show is currently airing the backend episodes of Season 3, and the networks have not confirmed if the show will have a Season 4.
“There’s very little I can say about that. I can’t tell you my idea for Season 4, but I’m really excited about it. I already pitched it to the network. So fingers crossed because it’s something I really like to do,” Mancini told The Direct in an interview.
Mancini teased that if a fourth season were to happen, the storyline would take another left turn.
“I think it’s really fun, new, and again, another left turn in terms of what we’ve been doing so far,” he said. “We...

The wait is now over and it’s time for a new presidential contender, Charles Lee Ray (Brad Dourif), aka Chucky, who has arrived and is ready to torment another day. After a long hiatus during which the creators divided season 3 into two parts, Don Mancini finally bestows another part of season 3 with four more episodes in its haunting repertoire. Although it seems impossible, Chucky Season 3: Part Two is even crazier and bloodier, as the season takes a spiritual spin.
Following the conclusion of Part One, we are left with a fast-aging Chucky, clinging to life as a serial killer in a doll body. But the man's foe isn't just the old age: Jake (Zackary Arthur), Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), and Devon (Bjorgvin Arnarson) are back and are hellbent on destroying the remains of Chucky's soul for good. Thirty-five years, seven feature films, and three seasons deep into an ongoing television series haven’t diminished Chucky’s bloodlust in the slightest. That’s no easy feat, even in a genre largely driven by surviving impossible odds and obstacles. With each new entry, Chucky somehow manages to grow even more maniacal and devious, adapting to bizarre new twists that a prolonged voodoo curse throws his way. Of course, that voodoo curse started it all 35 years ago today, when Child’s Play stabbed its way into theaters on November 9, 1988.
While Chucky’s journey continues to surprise through new revelations, characters, and sharp narrative turns, it’s anchored by the killer’s unrelenting pursuit of vengeance and his voodoo origins. That voodoo curse also allows for one of the most notable deaths in the series for its almost meta-levels of doll-on-doll violence.

Actor Devon Sawa had a fun but educational experience working with the Chucky doll. Collaborating with the pint-sized serial killer was more work than he thought it would be.

Working with a doll wasn’t as simple as it appeared on screen. For one thing, Sawa learned on set that he wasn’t just going to be working with one Chucky.
“What you don’t know—or what I didn’t know—is that you have to do each bit and there’s a different Chucky for everything,” Sawa once told E News. “There’s Chucky with legs, there’s Chucky with arms, there’s mad Chucky, happy Chucky.”
Not only that, but Sawa didn’t have the easiest time acting alongside Chucky in the beginning.

After seven feature films and a maligned reboot, Child’s Play jumped to the small screen a few years ago with the series Chucky. Combining elements from the various movies and subplots involving cults, brides, and offspring, Chucky centered on a new protagonist in the small town of Hackensack, New Jersey. With Chucky able to dispense his brand of murderous rage on the unsuspecting citizens of his former hometown, audiences reveled in the bloodshed and sense of humor that had made the movie box office hits. After season one, Chucky went from a small town to a Catholic boarding school, where he continued his spree on nuns, priests, and teenagers. The first two seasons were hits for USA and SyFy in a rare instance of a series airing on two networks simultaneously.
Now, in the third season of Chucky, the Good Guy doll has moved to his biggest challenge yet: the White House.

After overhearing the “interactive AI robot doll” talk about murder (Chucky has his hit list hilariously saved as a note in his phone), the freaked out cabbie tried to drop them off at a random street corner. Don Mancini's Child's Play and its renowned main character Chucky, voiced by Brad Dourif, became an international horror sensation. How do I know? Because growing up in ‘90s Poland, I knew all too well about the evil doll. Chucky gave me a few nightmares, but it also turned me into a hardcode horror enthusiast. With the SyFy series Chucky , the creators extend the film universe and reintroduce the possessed doll to a broader and younger audience. This naughty, deliciously vicious series never gets old, even after several runs. This time, season 3 transports us to the White House and has to offer even more outrageous moments, great script, and continually astounding performances.
Following the events in Hackensack involving Chucky, Tiffany, and a pile of dead bodies, Jake (Zackary Arthur), Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), and Devon (Bjorgvin Arnarson) find themselves orphaned. As befits Gen Z, the infamous trio immerses themselves in technology,...

A few months ago, Universal Studios announced that one of the haunted houses that would be part of this year’s Halloween Horror Nights event at the Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood resorts would be inspired by the killer doll Chucky. This haunted house is called Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count – and in a newly released video, Chucky himself promotes the attraction! You can check it out in the embed above.
Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count casts the killer doll as the star of his very own haunted house for the first time. A true sadistic killer, Chucky has been mired in the agony of disrespect he feels from his peers at not being taken seriously. Thus begins his quest to turn his haunted house into a living slaughterhouse by killing every person who enters.

I don’t need to inform anyone that mainstream Hollywood entertainment is still in the grips of a franchise and IP based fervor. Mega franchises, sequels, reboots, requels, remakes – all of these have been the lion’s share of high profile releases for well over a decade now. Everything from the most recognizable franchises in film history to more niche pop cultural artifacts have been resurrected, dusted off, and had a new coat of paint air-brushed on.
Every day across social media the online film community seems to litigate “the state” of Hollywood.
Superhero fatigue. Franchise fatigue. You know the discourse. Personally, I take as much of a nonchalant attitude with all this stuff as I can. I have my peccadillos. I have my areas of agreement regarding “the state” of Hollywood. But at the end of the day I’m just…a dude. A dude who just wants to...

Previously on f***ing "Chucky," everyone's favorite serial killer-possessed doll kickstarted a reign of havoc throughout New Jersey, and it was up to a group of meddling teens to stop him. Creator Don Mancini first brought Charles Lee "Chucky" Ray to audiences in 1988 with "Child's Play," and the pint-sized slasher franchise has grown to seven films and now three seasons of television. Mancini has been at the helm through it all, evolving the series every step of the way. And now, season 3 of the USA and Syfy "Chucky" series is taking things one step further in the wildest season yet.
Brad Dourif continues to dazzle and destroy as the titular doll, and "Chucky" is as gruesome, raucous, campy, and decidedly envelope-pushing as ever — both in substance and style. Season 3 is unfortunately split into two parts, but the first half — consisting of four episodes — continues the seasonal tradition that Halloween isn't...

By the end of Don Mancini’s “Chucky“ Season 2, orphans Jake Wheeler (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Bjorgvin Arnarson), and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind) found a new stable home, free from Chucky (Brad Dourif). With Chucky on the lam and Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) accosted by the authorities, all seemed well for Hackensack and the franchise’s protagonists, save for one or two loose ends. As for the killer Good Guy doll, he doesn’t appear interested in Hackensack anymore.
Season 3 puts Chucky’s ambition on display as the pint-sized serial killer takes aim at the White House. With the third outing of “Chucky” split into halves, Season 3: Part 1’s more self-contained narrative keeps overarching plot threads on the backburner in favor of setting up a White House bloodbath that puts the camp in politics.
Chucky may still have a bone to pick with Jake, Devon, and Lexy, but his unwavering lust for power takes precedence.
