Alan Sellors
- Actor
Alan Sellors was born in Buxton Derbyshire England to John Henry Sellors and Doris Wood.
Due to a misspelling on Alan's Father John Henry's birth records (but not on his brothers' being Sellers) the family branch
that has continued from John Henry has continued as Sellors.
Elder brother to Colin and Bernard, Alan married Dorothy Lilian Bowman in 1961, they had one child, a girl, Pamela, and emigrated to Australia in 1967 to Mount Isa, Queensland where the family became involved with the local Theatrical Society and ventured further into cinema and other stage work both on stage and behind the scenes.
In 1983, Alan played the mining camp supervisor in the 1983 made-for-TV mini-series Silent Reach which starred US actor Robert Vaughan, (The Man from U.N.C.L.E) Australia's Graham Kennedy, John Howard, Helen Morse, and more which was filmed in Mount Isa, Queensland.
The film and TV industry is deep in the family's veins with two close family members also being very well-known in the industry with both being very well-known popular actors and producers of their day, with over 200 films between them and working with those such as Capucine, Angela Lansbury, Cecil B. DeMille, and many more.
One example that you may have heard of is the 1965 TV series The Man from U.N.C.L.E starring Robert Vaughan and David McCallum, as well as many Hollywood films throughout the periods of the 1930s to 1970s and 1940s to 1980s.
The family tradition continues to this day with the family active in various forms in Hollywood, the United Kingdom, and Australia not only in film but also in other forms of entertainment.
