Kacey Musgraves has released a studio version of the oft-covered Bob Marley and The Wailers classic “Three Little Birds.” Her rendition is for Reinaldo Marcus Green’s upcoming biopic Bob Marley: One Love.
Musgraves wisely didn’t try to replicate Marley’s roots reggae instrumentation here. Instead, she used his melodies and evergreen lyrics over a gentle acoustic guitar strum, some minimal drums, and a pedal steel. It’s all blanketed in heavy reverb, staying authentic to the comforting quality of the original song while making it her own.
“Three Little Birds” is just one of six Marley covers on an eponymous EP accompanying One Love. That’ll also feature Leon Bridges, Daniel Caesar, Bloody Civilian, Jessie Reyez, Wizkid, and Bob’s grandson Skip Marley. Stream Musgraves’ contribution and then see the full EP tracklist below.

Sam Smith + + Calvin Harris on a track always leads to pure magic. On Friday, Harris and Smith released the drag race-themed video for their newest collaboration, “Desire.”
The video follows Smith (with a scar on their nose) speeding through an empty parking lot alongside another racer. The video splices clips of the high-speed races with videos of the performer singing along to the lyrics, and appearances from the UK DJ himself.
“You are my desire, oh/And just the thought of you is keeping me awake,” they sing on the electro-pop single.

Sam Smith showed their fans that they are “Kenough,” as they channeled their inner Ken from the Barbie movie.
Smith, who goes by they/them pronouns, took to social media to share a picture of themselves standing in the middle of a road, as they wore a pink bomber jacket with blue shorts and yellow Timberland boots. Even more noticeable was their beach blonde hair, very similar to Ryan Gosling’s look in Barbie.
The multi-Grammy winner was featured in the Barbie soundtrack, singing their song “Man I Am.”

New Delhi, July 28 (Ians) Playback singer Shreya Ghoshal, who has teamed up with Alexandrian rapper and songwriter, Afroto for a new single ‘Sunn Beliya’, has said that it’s a beautiful seamless confluence of two different cultures, languages, and styles.
The song is a part of the impressive Coke Studio 2023 lineup of releases. This unlikely combination brings together Shreya’s vocals and phrasing, with Afroto’s boundary-pushing sense of melody and beats.
Speaking of her collaboration with Afroto, Shreya said: “I am very excited to have done a global collaboration like this for the first time ever. Creating this beautiful song with the immensely talented artist Afroto from Egypt was truly a unique experience.”

Sam Smith seemed to be in a jovial mood as they were out and about the streets of New York City on Wednesday.
The Academy Award-winning singer, who uses they/them pronouns, shared a snap of themselves on Instagram, holding a cup of frozen yogurt from Culture NY, dressed in all white as they wore a white t-shirt and a white pleated skirt, a pair of white sneakers and white calf-length socks.
“Happy Sam,” they wrote in their caption.
Before the evening dessert run, Smith was spotted strolling around the city with their boyfriend, designer Christian Cowen. This isn’t the first time they have been seen together, in January, Smith was seen giving Cowen’s head a kiss.
In addition to spending time with Cowen, another possible reason for Smith’s cheerful mood could be the upcoming Barbie film, which features their song in the film’s soundtrack, “Man I Am.

Scooter Braun guest starred in the Season 3 premiere of Bloomberg’s “Idea Generation” and was asked about his feud with Taylor Swift, among other topics.
Speaking with series host Noah Callahan-Bever, Braun talked about his purchase of Big Machine Records, as well as his thoughts on managers’ responsibilities, work/life balance and his relationships.
Asked about his back-and-forth with Swift, Braun didn’t mention her by name but said in the episode: “I choose to look at it as like, these moments that you think someone is attacking you or these moments you think are unfair, one you play a role in every one of these moments because you are part of the story. And two, you can choose to be angry, resentful, bitter, and actually become the story in your anger, or you can choose to say thank you for playing a role in my growth and move on.

Sam Smith says their collab with Ed Sheeran was a long time in the works.
The artist’s new album Gloria is filled with star-studded names like Canadian Jessie Reyez and Kim Petras, but the track “Who We Love” with Sheeran took work to come together.
“It was beautiful. We’ve been friends for a long time and we’ve always wanted to work on a piece of music together. And this happened just so naturally,” said Smith on the team-up.

“You like them crazy do you? I’m crazy through and through...” croons Sam Smith on their fourth album, Gloria. Smith seems too sweet to live up to the boast. You could safely take every song on this easygoing record home to meet the parents. Even on “I’m Not Here to Make Friends”, a track about searching for a lover in the darkness of a club, you can still imagine Smith at said club volunteering to be the designated driver for their mates.
This warmly conversational quality is nicely expressed on opener “Love Me More”, in which Smith asks listeners: “Have you ever felt like being somebody else?” They admit that the identity that “used to burn” now feels increasingly comfortable. Set to an affable, Nineties R&b beat, the song sees the mainstream pioneer of non-binary life holding out a companionable hand to anyone struggling to accept themselves.

Since breaking through a decade ago with their impassioned vocal on Disclosure’s churning club smash “Latch,” Sam Smith has been one of pop’s premier torch singers. Their ability to express yearning, whether by using their gasped upper register or their voice’s smoothed-out lower reaches, lends itself naturally to ballads, or glumly kinetic songs like the 2019 Normani collaboration “Dancing With a Stranger.”

"If you died tomorrow, I don't think I'd cry, I gave you one too many nights," sings Jessie Reyez in "Mutual Friends," a single off her new album, "Yessie," released on Sept. 16. Brimmed with much of the gritty and raw R&b and soul sounds Reyez is known for, the 11-track album is her second studio album and fourth project. In "Yessie," the Grammy-nominated performer mesmerizes with her unique, raspy voice while offering fresh sounds, hopeful lyrics, and dance vibes.
"I'm always just talking about my life and what I go through, but I'm definitely in a different space."
These expressions of joy amid heart-wrenching tracks reflect the journey Reyez has undertaken in her own personal life. "I'm always just talking about my life and what I go through, but I'm definitely in a different space," Reyez says in an interview with Popsugar. "I've just wanted to grow,...

Multi-Platinum, multiple award-winning, celebrated truth speaking, multi-hyphenate – recording artist, songwriter, and electric live performer Jessie Reyez is back with her sophomore album Yessie. Across 11 tracks, Jessie chronicles the journey and range of emotions from love and loss to healing, closure and happiness. The title – her own familial nickname – gives fans a glimpse of the intimacy on this project. Unofficially christened that name at a very young age, the album balances a world of weariness with the clear-eyed truth telling that many abandon after childhood.
Yessie only boasts one feature from 6Lack, allowing Reyez to remain the standout on this album. This duo is no stranger to collaborations having put out “Imported” from her 2020 debut Before Love Came To Kill Us leading to a performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Jessie performed the album’s first single “Mutual Friend” and announced it earlier this summer on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Jessie Reyez’s soft, guttural vocals and uninhibited lyrics have captivated fans across the industry, leading the Grammy-nominated R&b singer-songwriter to work with the likes of Beyoncé, Eminem, and even film director Alfonso Cuarón. She’s always been able to capture the feeling of raw heartbreak, something she does on her spellbinding new song “Mood” — only this time, the grief she sings about has to do with the end of a friendship.

Jessie Reyez is done putting up with a “Fraud” in her first new solo music since the release of her debut album Before Love Came to Kill Us.
Reyez makes her directorial debut in the single’s accompanying video alongside co-director Emma Higgins. The vivid clip features Reyez and a group of women who paint the walls red with blood while dealing with a couple of devilish men. They soon find themselves in a lush setting, where flowers bloom, making their own kind of Garden of Eden, free from the evil.
