Exclusive: Don Stark is returning to Netflix’s That ’90s Show for Season 2 in a heavy recurring role reprising the character Bob Pinciotti, an Og That ’70s Show character who appeared in one episode of the sequel series last season.
Regarding Bob’s expanded role, we hear he returns to town where he reconnects with Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) and Red (Kurtwood Smith). Part 1 of the new season premieres on June 27 with the season conclusion dropping on October 24.
Laura Prepon, who reprised the role of Donna Pinciotti (daughter of Bob) from That ’70s Show in Season 1 of the Netflix comedy, is the only member of the younger leading original cast who will return for Season 2 of That ’90s Show, sources close to production tell Deadline. Mila Kunis has previously confirmed she and Ashton Kutcher will not be back reprising the roles of Jackie and Kelso, respectively, for the show’s sophomore season.

Actor Mace Coronel has a lot to live up to in the wake of That ’70s Show. He plays Jay Kelso, son of Ashton Kutcher’s Michael Kelso, in the new Netflix sitcom That 90s Show. It’s a role that was difficult to cast, but Coronel has since proved himself as the right choice for the difficult job: echoing Kutcher’s loveable dullard without simply mimicking that performance.
The role called for a young actor. Hollywood usually casts older, but in Coronel, they found the right guy for the job — while he was still in high school.

That ’90s Show is new to Netflix. But the streamer already renewed it for a second season. The popular show, a sequel to That ’70s Show, offers up a lot for fans both old and new, including both original and established characters, lots of humor, and smart pop culture references. While That ’90s Show focuses primarily on the young cast members, there are plenty of appearances from legacy characters from That ’70s Show — and as those who worked on the TV series have revealed, there were plenty of interactions between the stars. Still, one guest star in particular really made an impression on the young cast members, leaving them truly starstruck.
‘That ’90s Show’ introduced a new young cast (L to R) Sam Morelos as Nikki, Mace Coronel as Jay, Ashley Aufderheide as Gwen Runck, Callie Haverda as Leia Forman, Maxwell Acee Donovan as Nate, Reyn Doi as Ozzie in episode 101 of That ’90s Show.

With the recent news that “That ’90s Show” has been renewed for a second season, Et Canada spoke with Reyn Doi, who plays Ozzie on the show.
As Doi confirmed, learning of a second season was thrilling for the cast of the Netflix spin-off of “That ’70s Show”.
“It was really exciting,” said Doi. “So a couple of days before it was announced on social media, our showrunner Greg [Mettler] kind of texted everyone to join a Zoom meeting and he liked to do like regular check ins on the cast, make sure they’re okay and how they’re handling all the publicity. So we all thought it was like that. But when we all logged on, they wouldn’t let us all in because they wanted all of us to be led in at one. And they were recording the meeting. In That ’90s Show, it’s 1995 and Leia Forman (Callie Haverda) is desperate for some adventure in her life or at least a best friend who isn’t her dad (Grace). “That ’90s Show” has debuted on the Netflix Top 10 English-language TV list with 41.08 million hours viewed in less than a week. The spinoff to “That ’70s Show” marked its premiere on the streamer on Jan. 19, nabbing the fifth spot on the list.
The multicam sitcom, like other comedies on the platform, was at an inherent disadvantage for the platform’s methodology of viewership tabulation with its half-hour episode runtimes being unfairly stacked up against hour-long dramas (think: “Stranger Things” or “Bridgerton”).

Reyn Doi, who stars as Ozzie on “That ’90s Show”, helped bring an important scene to life that’s resonated with audiences since the series premiered last week.
The 14-year-old actor told People it “was definitely a joy” to film the heartfelt moment when his character came out as gay to the beloved “That ’70s Show” mom, Kitty Forman a.k.a. Debra Jo Rupp, who reprises her role in the reboot, this time as a grandmother.
“Being able to work with Debra Jo on such an important scene, I believe, to the show and also to Ozzie’s storyline was really amazing,” Doi told the outlet.

The teens of "That '90s Show" may hang out in the same basement where the "That '70s Show" crew spent many a summer night in a smoky circle, but they're definitely forging their own paths. The Netflix spinoff, which premiered on Jan. 19, stars a fresh cast that includes Callie Haverda, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi, Sam Morelos, and Ashley Aufderheide, as well as "That '70s Show" originals Kurtwood Smith (Red) and Debra Jo Rupp (Kitty).
The show follows Eric (Topher Grace) and Donna's (Laura Prepon) teenage daughter, Leia (Haverda), as she navigates coming of age and making new friends in the exact place where her parents fell in love so many years ago. But despite the similarities between the sitcoms, the young "That '90s Show" cast are set on paving their own way.

“That ’90s Show” actress Ashley Aufderheide got some great advice from one member of the original “That ’70s Show” cast.
Aufderheide, who plays Gwen Runck in the much-talked about spinoff, told People, “I talked to Wilmer [Valderrama] a lot. He gave a lot of advice, but almost all of the legacy cast was very helpful in giving advice.”
The 17-year-old explained how Valderrama, 42, told her, “I just need to stay authentic to who I am. That’s what [Valderrama and the cast] said, just like, ‘You’re going to be funny if you just do what you want to do, and be as real as possible.’ Then that’s how you emulate the chemistry, and how to be the best that you can be.”

Depending on the season, the opening credits sequences for Night Court and That ‘70s Show ran between 30 and 40 seconds. Their new legasequels — NBC’s Night Court and Netflix’s That ‘90s Show — use intros that top out around 15 seconds, with updated versions of familiar theme songs that are either much less intricate (Night Court) or vastly sped up (That ‘90s Show).
On the one hand, this should not be a surprise. Sitcom credits have gotten drastically shorter since That ‘70s Show debuted 25 years ago, particularly on broadcast network TV, where...

Watching “That ‘90s Show,” you can almost see every disastrous pathway the show didn’t take. There’s a version of this spinoff that’s centered on the original cast or transposed to a different city or steeped so much in ‘90s references that it chokes off every punchline before it has a chance to survive.
It’s not a perfect show, but “That ‘90s Show” does make one very smart decision throughout this first 10-episode season: It doesn’t lean on cameos. Yes, the show opens with Eric (Topher Grace) and Donna (Laura Prepon) and Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) in the old Foreman kitchen. Sure, Jackie (Mila Kunis) and Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) drop by for the one-scene shouting match. Rather than dangle those as the engine “That ‘90s Show” needs to keep going, it’s an efficient way to acknowledge the past before building the future.

There’s a moment early on in first season of Netflix’s “That ’90s Show,” after Eric (Topher Grace), Donna (Laura Prepon), Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) and Jackie (Mila Kunis) have finished making their required cameos, when it feels like it’s clear that this sequel series couldn’t possibly live up to the first iteration. The teens are as awkward as their jokes, the lack of parents is baffling, and the ’90s references are all over the place, and you might see where I’m going with this — “That ’90s Show” is the “That ’70s Show” of the 2010s, even though it’s 2023, and while that sentence might be a confusing mess, the show is a lot less of a mess than it could have been. It’s both bad and good in all the right ways, and deserves more of a chance than you might want to give it...

Plot: Hello, Wisconsin! It’s 1995, and Leia Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna, is visiting her grandparents for the summer, where she bonds with a new generation of Point Place kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red. Review: One of Fox’s most popular sitcoms, That ’70s Show, ran for eight seasons and 200 episodes in the early 2000s. Let me save you some time: If you’re old enough to actually remember the ’90s, then That ’90s Show probably isn’t for you. Netflix is trying to recapture the retro magic of That ’70s Show with an all-new reboot — they’re calling it a “sequel series,” but really, it’s a reboot — with suburban parents Red and Kitty Forman enduring a new generation of unruly teens. But That ’90s Show (debuting today; I’ve seen the first three episodes) is an uninspired buzzkill: half tired nostalgia tour and half mediocre retread.

That ’90s Show is a sitcom series created by Gregg Mettler, Bonnie Turner, Terry Turnery and Lindsey Turner. It stars Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp.
That ’90s Show arrives with all of the nuances of the sitcoms of the 90, with canned laughter that we all liked so much then and which seem so old now.
These shows were the milestones of an era and Netflix offers us the chance to remember them with this series, which bottled and sent to the desert island of streaming, reaches us with an aged flavor and, most likely for many, out of fashion now.
Retro, demodé, That ’90 Show is a sitcom that rescues the two previous series that were broadcast by Fox with great audience success and which we now see with the flavor of those times in which… cell phones didn´t exist.
What a long time ago it seems to us today.

There are a few quibbles one might make about “That ‘90s Show,” the first of which announces itself somewhat plainly. There’s little of the grain or texture of 1990s culture in the series’ first episodes: Indeed, protagonist Leia Forman (Callie Haverda) lives out an experience of teenagerdom not dissimilar to the one shared by her parents (Topher Grace and Laura Prepon) on Fox’s “That ‘70s Show.”
But that seems like the big point this series, which boasts a number of executive producers from its predecessor, is working toward: The more time passes, the clearer it is that dynamics and fundamentals are resistant to change. That’s true of the relationships between characters: Grace and Prepon are but guest stars, dropping off their daughter to spend the summer with her grandparents (Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith), but both actors conjure, effectively, the sense of instant regression to teenhood...

As evidenced by television’s IP gold rush over the past several years, there are many, many ways to reboot a classic. There’s the meta route taken by Saved by the Bell, or the dramatic one adopted by Bel-Air. There are sequels that revisit the same characters in a new phase of life, a la And Just Like That …, and re-imaginings that add an urgent topical angle a la Queer as Folk.
Still others simply try to replicate the old formula, which is trickier than it might seem: For every well-considered Wonder Years, there’s a stilted How I Met Your Father. This is the approach chosen by Netflix’s That ’70s Show spinoff That ’90s Show. No one is likely to describe the new sitcom as a bold take on the source material or praise its originality and bravery; it aims for nothing much more ambitious than recreating...

I vividly remember, as a child, listening to Atomic Kitten’s hits “Eternal Flame” and “The Tide is High”, and my father loudly complaining that “all songs these days are covers”. Well, the child is father of the man, as William Wordsworth might say, and after seeing The Addams Family, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and, now, That ’70s Show rebooted for modern audiences, I have become my father. “Why did you open our house to chaos?” asks Kurtwood Smith’s cantankerous grandpa, Red, as Netflix’s That ’90s Show begins. “Again!?” That, Red, is a question for the studio executives.

The original Point Place gang are reuniting for Netflix's "That '90s Show," a sequel to the hit comedy "That '70s Show." The streamer finally shared the first teaser trailer for the upcoming series on Nov. 29, taking us right back to our favorite basement in Wisconsin with "That '70s Show" originals Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) and Red Forman (Kurtwood Smith). While the clip introduces some new faces, the show clearly aims to restore that old nostalgic feeling viewers fell in love with in the late '90s.
Netflix has confirmed guest appearances from "That '70s Show"'s Topher Grace (Eric), Laura Prepon (Donna), Mila Kunis (Jackie), Ashton Kutcher (Kelso), and Wilmer Valderrama (Fez) during season one of the upcoming Netflix sitcom - and they all appear in the official trailer, which premiered on Dec. 22.. In a clip released on Jan. 6, we also see the return of Don Stark as Bob Pinciotti.
