Daniel Ortiz(XXIX)
- Sound Department
My passion for sound and music started since I was little, I started to play drums and acoustic guitar and I had the privilege to keep doing that for a few years to even get to build a room to play drums with my different bands I had at that time. After some time I got to the university where I decided what career I wanted to study, since I already knew it had to be something related to music, I chose a bachelor degree in music production, so I moved from the seat of a drum set to the recording engineer seat in a mixing room.
As time went by and I got closer to finish my time in the university as a music engineer, I was introduced to the post production part of the audiovisual media world by a friend that worked in a small post production sound studio. I started to do build my professional experience in there doing a little bit of everything, and as time went by, I was getting more and more passionate to work on film/commercial productions as a sound mixer or boom operator and editing sound effects or making sound design for film.
That was a few years ago and those are my 2 main occupations, either as a production sound mixer or as a post production sound editor in my home studio cutting sound effects and making sound design. I enjoy every part of the collaborative process in those areas and I always give the best I can to every project, so it's always a piece I can be proud of and my clients have someone who they can rely on to go the extra mile to get things done the best way possible with the best attitude and professionalism.
I have found that the most important things in a job is to be prepared, to be open for challenges and enjoy everything I can.
