Back in 2022, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit welcomed Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready to the stage of the Paramount Theatre in Seattle to cover, fittingly, Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing.” Earlier this week, Isbell and McCready reunited once again in the Emerald City, this time to jam out on an Isbell original.
“Our good friend, Mike McCready,” Isbell said by way of introducing the guitarist at Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo, where the 400 Unit were headlining. Along with 400 Unit guitarist Sadler Vaden, the three shredders tore into the encore of “This Ain’t It,...

Jack White joined Saturday Night Live’s illustrious Five-Timers Club with a thunderous late-night performance not soon to be forgotten. Accompanied by drummer Daru Jones, bassist Dominic Davis, and keyboardist Quincy McCrary, the Detroit rocker veered in and out of guitar solos as he ran through “Taking Me Back” and “Fear of the Dawn” from his 2022 rock album, Fear of the Dawn.
Later in the episode, White showed off a softer side with a rendition of “A Tip From You to Me,” which appears on the acoustic companion LP, Entering Heaven Alive.
White served as musical guest on SNL’s February 25th episode hosted by actor Woody Harrelson. As fate would have it, Saturday’s episode marked both men’s fifth appearance on the show, and they were gifted their respective Five-Timers Club jackets at the conclusion of the episode. LGBTQ+ film and media organization, NewFest, announced the inaugural recipients of the New Voices Filmmaker Grant, a new initiative in partnership with Netflix to support emerging LGBTQ+ filmmakers that will distribute a total of 100,000 in funds.
A cohort of four filmmakers who each receive a 25,000 grant to support professional development and create new work, and will have access to network-building opportunities through industry events and a mentorship track facilitated by NewFest. Netflix has pledged support for this program for two years.
“We were astounded and excited by the volume and strength of applications received,” said NewFest Executive Director David Hatkoff. “With the challenges emerging filmmakers face both in funding and creating their work, this opportunity to support and amplify underrepresented voices by providing resources and guided mentorships has the potential to change careers and lives. We are grateful to Netflix for their trust and support in making this possible on such a large scale.
