Laura is a producer and journalist. Currently, she is an associate producer at NBC News Studios.
Previously, Laura was with the Opinion Video teams at both CNN and The New York Times. She pitched wrote, and edited videos, as well as handling all aspects of production and publishing.
Before that, Laura worked on Fusion TV's investigative unit, which produced the documentary series "The Naked Truth" (distributed by Netflix). With the unit, Laura worked on several long-form documentaries, including Dirty Little Secrets, the only American English-language televised investigation into the Panama Papers leak; ISIS Fighters, a look a westerners joining Kurdish militias fighting against ISIS in Syria; Rigged, a documentary and digital interactive exploring the impacts of gerrymandering on American democracy; Numbers Game, a deep-dive investigation into the pitfalls of policing data in America; Debt Trap, a look at the student debt crisis looming over America; and Wasteland, which traces Scott Pruitt's environmental record in Oklahoma (the project was a Livingston Award finalist).
In her free time, Laura also freelances with independent documentary projects, such as Muck Media's Mucho, Mucho Amor.
With a background in international affairs and government, her passion lies in telling stories about how these two things affect communities and people's lives on a daily basis.
As a Miami native, Laura runs on coffee and good tips.
