When Caleb Kennedy auditions for the “American Idol” judges during Sunday’s fourth episode, he chooses to perform his original song, titled “Nowhere.” The only problem? He’s only written the first verse and hasn’t yet completed it. “I’ll help you right now,” Luke Bryan tells the 16-year-old student from Roebuck, Sc. He’s not the only judge impressed by Caleb’s song-writing abilities, as Katy Perry chimes in, “You better finish that song ‘Nowhere’ because that song is gonna take you somewhere.” Watch the “American Idol” sneak peek video above. The full episode airs March 7 on ABC.

Amanda Mena has been singing for most of her life, and it’s clear that she has a natural gift. Her voice carries power and strength that are impossible to ignore. When she stepped in the audition room at American Idol, it was instantly clear that she came to shut it down. After performing a cover of “Golden Slumbers” by The Beatles, the judges were absolutely speechless. Needless to say, Amanda earned a Golden Ticket to Hollywood, and there are a lot of people who already have her pegged as one of the favorites to win the competition. Although making it

If you had that nagging feeling of familiarity watching Amanda Mena perform on Night 2 of ABC’s “American Idol” Season 19, you’re not alone.
This 18-year-old horse handler originally made a name for herself on NBC’s rival reality TV show “America’s Got Talent” where she received Mel B‘s Golden Buzzer. At that time she was only 15, but her “Natural Woman” audition blew the roof off the theater and earned her a coveted spot in the Season 13 live shows. Amanda made it all the way to the “AGT” semi-finals, being eliminated just prior to finale week. With three more years of experience under her belt, can this Boston resident go the end and win “American Idol”?

For her “Idol” audition (watch above), Amanda took a big risk performing The Beatles‘ “Golden Slumbers” in front of judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

American Idol‘s second round of Season 19 auditions did not feature any more children of disgraced political figures, but it did introduce us to a girl who kind of looks like Katy Perry. And that’s not nothing.
The look-alike in question was 17-year-old Hannah Everhart, who charmed the judges with a lovely (if somewhat reserved) rendition of Johnny Cash’s “Wayfaring Stranger.” She had an interesting tone to her voice, but the judges needed to hear more.

“American Idol” kicked off season 4 on ABC on February 14. Night 2, which airs February 21, features another dozen artists hoping to win over the three judges: Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Each is hoping to number among the 150 contestants who make it to the next stage: Hollywood Week. At the end of those seven days, only 40 will make the cut.
Those two score of contestants will then take turns performing on their own and with celebrity guests. Only half of this Top 40 will move on in the competition. And from these Top 20, just 14 contestants will get put through to the live shows, which begin in early April. At that point, you will be able to predict the outcome of each episode in our predictions center.

Throughout its now-14 seasons on the air, the judging panel at “America’s Got Talent” has gone through many different facelifts — but hey, this is Hollywood after all. For the current cycle, which debuted May 28 on NBC, the reality TV show welcomed Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough alongside returning judges Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel. The ladies replace longtime panelists Heidi Klum and Mel B, who both opted not to return following the winter’s popular “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” spinoff series. Union and Hough are now the 10th and 11th judges to appear on “Agt” — see the full list in our photo gallery below.

The judges’ table for “America’s Got Talent” Season 14 is about to get a facelift. Per Variety, NBC has announced that Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough are joining the panel, taking over for long-time judges Heidi Klum and Mel B. Host Tyra Banks is also being replaced by Terry Crews, who currently oversees spinoff series “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.” For fans who don’t like change, there is some good news as the two bookend male judges — Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel — will return for Season 14.

“America’s Got Talent” is likely to be won by 13-year-old singing sensation Courtney Hadwin. This English songbird is set to compete in the live season 13 finale of “Agt” on Tuesday. The winner of the $1 million grand prize and contract to headline a Las Vegas casino show will be revealed on Wednesday. While our exclusive odds are predicting that Hadwin will win, is it fair that she is competing in this competition against adults?
After all, this talented teen may well have the edge in garnering votes. Remember, last year’s winner was Darci Lynne Farmer, a 12-year-old singing ventriloquist. And the 2016 “Agt” champ was Grace VanderWaal, another 13-year-old singer with a big voice. It would not be surprising that the show is hoping to strike gold three times in a row with a child star.
Hadwin numbered among the nine Golden Buzzer acts that got sent straight through to the live shows.

A year ago, “America’s Got Talent” judge Mel B saw her Golden Buzzer act Darci Lynne Farmer win season 12, taking home a cool $1 million and a contract to headline at a Las Vegas casino. The act that Mel B singled out for such special treatment this year, Amanda Mena, was eliminated in the semi-finals two weeks ago. This one-time Spice Girl must now sit and stew as she watches the Golden Buzzer acts of two of her rival judges — Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel — as well as host Tyra Banks take to the stage on Tuesday’s “Agt” final.

Six of the 11 acts that took to the stage on Tuesday’s first live semifinal of “America’s Got Talent” were eliminated from the competition during Wednesday’s results episode. All of those that were bounced had been good enough to make it through the audition process and survive the judge cuts phase. But they did not win over enough viewers to number among the five acts that move on to the finals of season 13 of “Agt” that start in two weeks.
Those that didn’t make the cut on live show 4 were the singers Amanda Mena, Makayla Phillips and Us the Duo; multimedia artists Front Pictures; dance troupe Junior New System; and children’s choir Voices of Hope. Which of the six acts that was axed on Wednesday will you miss the most? Read our recaps of their performances and then cast your vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.

NBC has revealed to Gold Derby that when the Semifinals begin on Tuesday, September 4, Front Pictures will be performing live from the Dolby Theatre as the judges’ wild card pick.
