Ann-Mari Fröier(1925-2017)
Ann-Mari Fröier was a Swedish pianist and vocalist. She made her stage debut as a soloist with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra in 1943. As a teenager, she appeared as a vocalist in the sphere of popular music singing jazz and swing and was described in the media as "Gothenburg Alice Babs". She first studied piano for the Hungarian virtuoso Annie Fischer during the 1940's and then continued to the Musical Academia in Stockholm as a student in both piano and song (soprano). For about ten years she performed extensively with violinist Gert Crafoord. The two were married between 1958 and 1965. Filmmaker Marie Lundberg captured the unique persona and musicality of Ann-Mari Fröier in the documentary "Mozart och mums-mums" (2012).
