In news likely to simultaneously delight and appall across the cinema world, a third instalment of IP-bludgeoning slasher ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey’ has been confirmed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield and Scott Chambers of prolific horror banner Jagged Edge Productions.
According to the producers, ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3’ will have a bigger budget than the previous films and will introduce new characters from the original Winnie-the-Pooh stories, including Rabbit, the heffalumps and the woozles. All will no doubt be given sadistic, murderous twists.
The news comes with ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2’ now in U.S. cinemas as part of its 3-day theatrical run via Fathom Events, and just over a year after the release of the first of what is now a quick-fire three-part franchise.

Warner Bros. is doubling down on the business of Timothée Chalamet. The studio signed a multi-year feature film deal with the actor to collaborate on future projects as a star and producer.
Chalamet led back-to-back box office hits for Warner Bros. with last December’s “Wonka” ($632 million globally) and this March’s “Dune: Part Two” ($575 million globally and counting). According to the studio, he became the first actor in four decades to star in the top two domestic films that were released in eight months.
Chalamet will enjoy a salary bump after those box office riches. The actor earned more than $8 million for “Wonka,” according to sources. Now, he’s looking at paydays in the double digits for leading roles in studio films.
Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy, co-chairs and CEOs of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, said they are “thrilled that [Chalamet] has chosen our studio to be his creative home.

Almost a decade ago, in 2015, it was announced that a Sister Act remake was in the works. However, fast-forward five years to 2020, and with Whoopi Goldberg showing interest in reprising her role as Deloris Wilson, Disney opted for a sequel, Sister Act 3, as a direct to streaming movie for Disney+ in December 2020. In the years that have followed, the presumed sequel has been stuck in production limbo without gaining much needed traction. Despite its slow pace, however, Goldberg says Sister Act 3 is still in the works!

There are some things you should not do: like running into oncoming traffic or drinking poison. Yet, sometimes we make choices we know can not be good for ourselves. On one cold Chicago night, Dante Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar) made the mistake of beginning a sexual relationship with a confidential informant. Chicago P.D. Season 11 circles back to this storyline in the upcoming episode. Episode 9 "Somos Uno" will be a Torres-centric hour as teased by the episode's promo and if hooking up with Gloria Perez (Yara Martinez) was bad, this time Torres is in even more danger because he has developed feelings.

It's a challenge to name an actor more beloved than Robin Williams. A truly versatile performer, his talent is one that many audiences will never see again in their lifetime. He could make you laugh, cry, or cry from laughing and infinitely more in between, bringing joy to so many through his work. With dramatic performances in films like Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets Society, and The Fisher King, audiences realized there was poignant depth to his larger-than-life persona.

Both Godzilla and Kong are characters that have existed for the better part of a century, with dozens of films under their combined belts. For the most part, these franchises can be broken down into two categories. One is films that attempt to explore deeper issues or themes under the guise of a monster movie, like 1933’s King Kong, 1954’s Godzilla, or last year’s Godzilla Minus One. The other sillier category relies on just watching these gargantuan creatures fight each other for little reason other than that it’s sort of fun to watch giants cause massive destruction and get into large-scale brawls.

Adam Wingard's "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" isn't so much a feature film as it is a Joycean stream-of-consciousness ramble escaped from the mind of a sugared-up eight-year-old, his tongue stained with the remnants of Blue Raspberry Warheads, slamming action figures together, roaring to himself in destructive ecstasy. Whereas Wingard's previous Godzilla film -- 2021's "Godzilla vs. Kong" -- brilliantly embraced the inherent silliness of the monsters' late-'60s Toho entries, "New Empire" tilts full-bore into the realm of Saturday morning cartoons, presenting a brazenly toyetic and visually wild romp that will crack even the hardest of hearts. "Godzilla x Kong" may make a viewer measurably dumber, but golly, that viewer will be entertained.
"Godzilla x Kong" moves so fast as to make one dizzy, and the visuals are so busy that a large caffeinated beverage may be required to keep up. The film climaxes with multiple monsters,...

The utterly convoluted lengths filmmakers will go to contrive some excuse to make monsters fight has become exasperating. Moreover, the unique paradox at the heart of Legendary’s Monsterverse series continues. Much like “Godzilla Vs. Kong,” also directed by Adam Wingard, the sequel, “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” faces many of the same fundamental problems, and these franchise filmmakers haven’t all addressed the issues, nor even seem to see them as such.

Italy’s Indiana Production – which is part of pan-European studio Vuelta Group – is making a significant move into the comedy space by forging a multi-picture deal and a creative collaboration pact with multihyphenate Gennaro Nunziante who has directed top local hits including “Quo Vado” that is the country’s all-time highest grosser.
Nunziante – who is a writer/director and sometimes actor – and Indiana are jointly mounting a pipeline of theatrical movies with smart storylines rooted in present-day social issues that, at least in some cases, will seek to travel outside Italy.
The Indiana comedies strand being shepherded by Nunziante, has two lines of development. One dedicated to established talents, the other to discovering and nurturing up-and-coming comics, including from the stand-up sphere, as well as young comedy writers and creators.
New Italian comedy talents they have recruited comprise the Milan-based comedy group Contenuti Zero who have a broad TV and social media fanbase.

Heartstopper has featured several iconic scenes, but when Nick comes out to his mom as being bisexual, it has to be one of the best. The scene was impactful thanks to the careful manner in which the topic was handled, but some thanks are in order for the actors. Kit Connor and Olivia Colman have played the Nelsons for two seasons, and they made that scene what it is. It is only natural that fans would want more of their dynamic. Unfortunately, Colman won't be in the much-anticipated third season of Heartstopper, she revealed in an interview with Forbes. The nepo-baby conversation isn't going anywhere in Hollywood, no matter how much the privileged children of the wealthy and elite wish that it would. Recently, when asked in an interview about the nepo-baby discourse that surrounds her, actor Dakota Johnson, daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, said that when she first heard the conversation was happening she found it "incredibly annoying and boring." She continued to say that journalists should find "something else" to write about. Of course, she also admits that when her dad cut her off financially in a bid to force her to "make it on her own" in Hollywood, she would still turn to her mother for financial assistance, saying, "She was the nice one." And herein lies the incredibly frustrating conundrum with nepo-babies who refuse to acknowledge their privilege while denigrating the term. It takes a certain cognitive dissonance to at once say she...

As one of the greatest masters of cinema, it's hard to imagine Akira Kurosawa struggling to gather funds to produce another masterpiece. The visually striking auteur built a magnificent film career where he could blossom his genius painting talent into gorgeous tragedies that no filmmaker could replicate. Kurosawa directed one movie almost every year, turning out big successes like Ikiru (1952), Seven Samurai (1954), and Yojimbo (1961). But when the early 70s came along, Japan's most celebrated director lost favor with the younger generation, as the TV industry and monster flicks were on the rise, and financial trouble started pale Kurosawa's career.

Jerry Seinfeld writes, directs, and stars in Netflix’s “Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story” centered on cereal rival companies Kellogg’s and Post that set out in a culinary equivalent of the space race: create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast. The film is set in the aptly-titled Battle Creek, Michigan in 1963. “Unfrosted” marks Seinfeld’s directorial debut.

Earlier this week, HBO gave an update for “Euphoria” Season 3 amid rumors of the network axing Sam Levinson‘s hit series. And no, it’s not canceled, only delayed, so that Levinson may finish his script and accommodate a time jump between S2 and S3. “Euphoria” fans may be bummed they need to wait longer than until next year for a new season, but star Sydney Sweeney couldn’t be happier.

A political story set to move its leads across the shadows is about to begin, with a new trailer for The Sympathizer released by Max. With only a couple of weeks to go until the miniseries created by Park Chan-wook and Don McKellar debuts on HBO and Max, the marketing campaign is speeding up — taking into account that the first look at the project was released almost a year ago. The fate of the Vietnam War is in the balance for the Captain (Hoa Xuande), and his place in history will be determined by what he's able to do in The Sympathizer's world of spycraft.

Lock your doors and keep your jar of honey sealed - Pooh and his feral friends will go on another bloodthirsty rampage as Variety reveals that Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 has been given the green light. Don’t expect to see Kristen Stewart in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although the actor is no stranger to big budget Hollywood tentpoles, from the “Twilight” movies to “Snow White and the Huntsman,” she recently said on the “Not Skinny but Not Fat” podcast that the studio system would have to dramatically change in order for her to sign on to a Marvel tentpole. That, or Greta Gerwig would have to be directing.
“I will likely never do a Marvel movie … it sounds like a fucking nightmare, actually,” Stewart said, noting that she does like making “big movies because I like people to watch them when I’m in them.”
Podcast host Amanda Hirsch said that Stewart could’ve maybe played a version of Spider-Man’s love interest Mary Jane Watson at one point in her career, but the actor said “the system would have to change” in order for...

It's not cheap to make a big ass monster movie, but it sounds like Warner Bros. and Legendary did a damn fine job of being fiscally responsible with "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire." The latest entry in the MonsterVerse franchise has a reported net (emphasis on net) budget of just $135 million. Using the word "just" sounds a little silly when talking about that much money, but considering that blockbuster budgets are so often closer to $200 million these days — if not more — this is a welcome bit of news. It also shouldn't be shocking, honestly. This should be closer to the rule, rather than the exception to it.
According to a recent report from Deadline, director Adam Wingard's "Godzilla x Kong" has a budget of $135 million (before marketing) that was 75% covered by Legendary and 25% covered by Warner Bros. The net part is important because it probably means the figure...

There are few openings in cinema as quietly spellbinding as the one in Trần Anh Hùng’s The Taste of Things. Operating on a rhythm similar to Frederick Wiseman’s magnificent recent documentary Menus-Plaisirs — Les Troisgros, The Taste of Things takes us into a kitchen in 1885 France. Though specific in its setting, soon all the walls come down as we get immersed in the particulars of the preparation. Before we know any of the people, we are swept up in the sights and senses of everything unfolding before us. Everything is meticulously prepared by two masters of their craft, playing out like a dance where the only music is the sizzling of a pan or the gentle sound of birds making their way through the open windows.

Iran continues to be a site of unrest among dissident filmmakers protesting leadership and government under the country’s current president, Ebrahim Raisi. In 2022, Iranian filmmakers such as Jafar Panahi, Mohammad Rasoulof, and Mostafa Al-Ahmad were arrested over their responses to Iran’s censorship of events including a building collapse that killed at least 41, and later the death of Mahsa Amini, killed by Islamic police for allegedly not wearing her hijab.
The only Iranian film to premiere at Cannes 2023, the omnibus satire “Terrestrial Verses” also saw one of its directors, Ali Asgari, banned from leaving his country. You can understand why after you see this probing film about life under the eye of a controlling government.
IndieWire understands the travel ban on Asgari has since been lifted, though freedom of expression remains an issue in Iran for filmmakers querying the status quo. “Terrestrial Verses,” the film Asgari co-directed with Alireza Khatami,...

It's official: Winnie the Pooh is getting his very own horror trilogy. That's right! Even though "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2" just hit theaters for a limited engagement through Fathom Events, Jagged Edge Productions has announced that a third installment in the franchise is already underway. The so-called Twisted Childhood Universe continues to expand by the day.
According to Variety, Rhys Frake-Waterfield and Scott Chambers of Jagged Edge Productions have confirmed a third installment in the budding franchise based on the beloved characters created by A.A. Milne. But since they entered the public domain a couple of years ago, the filmmakers have taken a great deal of creative license and turned them into feral, murderous creatures. The experiment has worked as the first "Blood and Honey" was a genuine box office surprise, pulling in more than $5 million on a budget of less than $50,000.

Not a single person asked for this, but we're getting it anyway. You likely never wondered about the intense brand rivalry between Kellogg's and Post that went into the invention of Pop-Tarts -- and, honestly, why would you? -- but the real-life drama behind the breakfast staple proved too much to resist, apparently. In a world where we can get an Oscar-winning drama about Facebook from one of our greatest living directors, a weirdly watchable biopic on the guy behind McDonald's starring Batman, and most recently Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's "Moneyball"-like deep-dive into Nike's Air Jordan sneakers, why the heck wouldn't we get a movie all about the process behind how breakfast was reinvented forever?

Aubrey Plaza and Dan Levy, the stars of “Happiest Season,” are reunited for short film “Decades of Confusion,” which is basically a commercial for fashion brand Loewe. If only Plaza could spell it.
It ain’t your average retail ad: “Black Mirror” director Ally Pankiw directed the short that was penned by “Good Grief” and “Schitt’s Creek” star Levy.
Plaza stars as a contestant in a spelling bee that spans each decade from 1971 to the present day. Levy is the (frustrated) judge. Plaza may not be able to spell “Loewe”, but she sure can put together an outfit from the fashion house. Plaza combs the Loewe archives to transform into a new character for the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, 2000s…
“Wigs, iconic looks from the Loewe archive, and wrong answers — from 1971 to present day,” the tagline reads.
Plaza is next set to star in Ethan Coen’s dark comedy “Honey Don’t!...

It will be fascinating to see where Anne Hathaway’s career takes her next. While she has been the subject of some unfortunate backlash, Hathaway has skillfully balanced all types of roles throughout her filmography. She has an exciting upcoming slate of unique projects, including the psychological thriller Mother's Instinct, the romantic comedy The Idea of You, and David Lowery's new musical epic Mother Mary. However, Hathaway was able to combine her humorous mannerisms, dramatic insight, and aptitude for genre stories into one of her best roles ever: a kaiju. The criminally underrated independent sci-fi dramedy Colossal, which also stars Jason Sudeikis, turned an outrageous concept into a surprisingly thoughtful, yet humorous spin on the classic monster movie mythology.

The three-episode 9-1-1 Season 7 mega emergency concludes this Thursday. In the last episode, The 118 shows up for Bobby (Peter Krause) and Athena (Angela Bassett) as their ship starts sinking, and because of the distance between them, they must fly out there. Promo videos have shown the cast boarding a helicopter but no one has seen who will be flying said helicopter. New images courtesy of TV Line tease the return of a former cast member who is now a pilot. Lou Ferrigno Jr. will reprise his Season 2 character Tommy Kinnard and will be the pilot for this important trip. He appeared in a slew of "Begins" for Hen (Aisha Hinds), Chimney (Kenneth Choi), and Bobby's second Begins, all in Season 2.

Nine years ago, “The Jinx” took HBO by storm, receiving rave reviews, five Emmy nods, and winning two, including Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series. And the show also led to the arrest of its primary subject, Robert Durst, for first-degree murder the day before the premiere of its series finale. It was fitting retribution for Durst, a man arrogant enough to sit down for interviews with a filmmaker who based his 2010 film “All Good Things” on the murders Durst got away with for decades.

Sitcoms like Abbott Elementary and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia continue to entertain viewers, with the latter being one of the popular early 2000s TV shows that have managed to sustain that momentum and build a massive fan base that's thriving today. That's because it has relatable characters, familiar but outlandish storylines, and slapstick humor that never fails to bring viewers to tears. Although many sitcoms released in the 2000s aren't as polished and cinematic as many are today, they exude certain nostalgic and comforting elements that are not so present in today’s sitcoms and television programs.

Over the last half century, there have been a ton of great actors who have worn the Batman cowl over the years. However, arguably what’s more interesting, are the actors who just missed their shot at playing the famous DC hero. One of those well-known names is Road House star Jake Gyllenhaal, who recently reflected on losing out on the Batman role for Batman Begins on The Howard Stern Show. This included talking about how director Christopher Nolan personally called him after he got the sad Bat-news.
