Claymation legends Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham will offer stop-motion fans a sneak peek at their upcoming Wallace & Gromit film at this year’s Annecy animation festival.
The still-untitled feature will see inveterate, cheese-loving inventor Wallace designing a “smart gnome” for the family garden who begins to develop a mind of its own. As events spiral out of control, it is up to faithful dog Gromit to put things right. Park and Crossingham co-directed the film, based on a story by Park and a screenplay from Shaun the Sheep and Gnomeo & Juliet writer Mark Burton.
The film, which will premiere on Netflix worldwide outside the U.K., where it will have a first-release window on the BBC, is the second feature from Aardman Animations based on the beloved characters, following the Oscar-winning Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005) and the series of award-winning shorts, including Oscar-winners The Wrong...

Jon Stewart surprised his audience and viewers at home Monday when his critique of recent over-the-top cable news coverage of the Trump Trial was interrupted by former Daily Show correspondent Jessica Williams.
“Jessica! How are you? Are you down at the courthouse to give us a report?”
“Uh, yeah, I am,” replied Williams. And here’s my report: Jon Stewart hates fun.”
Stewart, who struggled to keep it together during Williams’ appearance Monday night seemed genuinely tickled to be working with her again. The two appeared to go off-script at least a couple times, with Stewart at one point exclaiming “I’ve missed you terribly,” and Williams saying the same.
The former correspondent sang Stewart’s praises in a 2023 interview with People Magazine in which she called him “one of the best bosses ever.”
“A lot of things made Jon a great boss, but he’s just a nice man...

Missed Monday’s late-night monologues? We’ve got you covered with our round-up of the night’s best laughs from across the dial.
Trial Media on Trial
There were only two late-night hosts on duty in a week when opening arguments in Donald Trump’s election interference trial began. Jon Stewart and Jimmy Kimmel alone, therefore, were left to apply their signature takes to the official start of the first-ever criminal trial for a former U.S. President, one which not only hinges on Trump’s alleged affair with (and subsequent hush money payment to) adult film actress Stormy Daniels, but where the first witness to be called will be the former National Enquirer publisher and Trump pal whose name happens to be David Pecker. (Who is alleged to have both planted fake stories about Trump opponents and bought and buried stories damning to Trump.)

Well, we have good news and bad news, All American fans. The good news is: You’ll be seeing more of Spencer and the gang this season. The bad news is: You might be seeing less of them next season.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the April 22 episode of Jeopardy!] If you tuned in to the April 22 episode of Jeopardy!, you likely noticed that there was something different about one of the contestants during half of the Jeopardy! round. Marko Saric, a math professor from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, returned with a two-day total of $26,600 and faced off against Elly Trickett, a blog & podcast editor from Danbury, Connecticut, and Nam Nguyen, a playwright from Mississauga, Ontario. Saric was dominating at the first break of the Jeopardy! round, leading $9,000 to Nguyen’s $2,400 and Trickett’s $1,000. What viewers may or may not have noticed is that Trickett did not have her glasses on for the interviews portion of the episode nor the rest of that first round; Trickett had given the last correct response and appeared to be reaching into her pocket when host Ken Jennings instructed her to select the next clue. Trickett, after answering only two questions ...

Sadly, we’re going to be saying goodbye to our favorite CSIs in the Las Vegas Crime Lab once again: CSI: Vegas will not be returning for a fourth season. The third season was a shorter one, and so that played into the way these 10 episodes unfold, as showrunner Jason Tracey told TV Insider in February. “We’ve got two pretty tight serialized arcs that are kind of unfolding,” he’d said at the time, and that likely ruled out any cameos from past CSI shows as well as returning to past cases (including something like Silver Ink from Vegas Season 2). But hey, at least we have Marg Helgenberger for her second season reprising her role of Catherine from the original CSI. Now that we know there are only four episodes left of the series, below, we take a look at two of the major storylines that need to be addressed in them.

At just 10 episodes, The Good Doctor‘s final season is also its shortest. The longest season (Season 6) had 22 episodes, and the others had between 18-20. The Good Doctor Season 7 still has four more episodes to go, but will a new one be airing on Tuesday, April 23? The quick answer is no. The Good Doctor is currently on a two-week break. The last new episode aired on Tuesday, April 9 and showed the aftermath of the death of Dr. Asher Wolke (Noah Galvin) the episode prior. The episode saw Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) put in charge of a major traumatic event at the hospital because, as the overworked and exhausted Dr. Audrey Lim (Christina Chang) said, he wouldn’t let emotions get in the way of handling things. Then, on Wednesday, April 24, the network will re-air its March 14 episode with actor Ice-t and CNN’s Jim Sciutto, and on Thursday, April 25, fans can revisit the show’s April 2 episode featuring Valerie Bertinelli, Sonequa Martin-Green, and Wilson Cruz.

“Dead Boy Detectives” threads a very specific tonal needle. Based on the Neil Gaiman graphic novels, the new Netflix series follows two dead teens — Edwin and Charles, played by George Rexstrew and Jayden Revri — and their flourishing careers as P.I.s who help other ghosts with unfinished business while trying to avoid Hell.
“We created a darkly comedic horror mystery,” co-creator (with Beth Schwartz) Steve Yockey told IndieWire. “We were always trying to make the Hardy Boys on acid, basically. As long as you stay grounded with the emotional stories, then you can go crazy with everything else.”
Over the course of eight episodes, “Dead Boy Detectives” does just that. Part of the series’ thrill is found in its opening credits, which distill the essence of the show’s tone into #friendgoals as two skeletons cavort and frolic while ominous Easter eggs proliferate. Watch the full sequence in the video above...

“Doctor Who” and “Sex Education” star Ncuti Gatwa said in a recent interview with Attitude magazine that Black people have a pressure to be excellent that is disproportionate to white people, be it in Hollywood or other professions. The 31-year-old actor has noticed “white mediocrity” being celebrated, which is a luxury that does not exist for Black people since they must be “absolutely flawless” to even get a sliver of attention.
“We’re trained to be like, ‘If I’m not exceptional, I won’t be loved.’ Certainly, I think that was my thing,” Gatwa said. “So, yeah, I think...

Ncuti Gatwa, the first Black Doctor in the (very) long-running “Doctor Who” series, did not get here without a fight. Gatwa recalled to Attitude magazine how some viewers were “so angry” about his casting, “something so inconsequential.”
It’s actually quite consequential, but in a good way.
“We do see a shift happening in casting, in positions of power and in the status quo,” Gatwa said. “I mean, not a fast shift, things could tip over the other way a little bit quicker, but you see people kind of malfunctioning because things are changing.”
Things are changing for Gatwa personally as well. In his youth, the pressure he felt to “be excellent” was taxing — especially as “white mediocrity” was celebrated around him.
“We’re trained to be like, ‘If I’m not exceptional, I won’t be loved.’ Certainly, I think that was my thing,” Gatwa said. “So, yeah, I...
