Forrest Harding and Suraj Sharma in Life of Pi (2012)

Piscine Molitor Patel AKA Pi from Life of Pi (2012), a resourceful, very intelligent, and thoughtful young man and a ravenous Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. If you survive the journey and not become Richard Parker's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you will learn a wonderful set of lessons about life and living.

Tallulah Bankhead, Hume Cronyn, Mary Anderson, John Hodiak, and Henry Hull in Lifeboat (1944)

A motley lot of Brits and Americans covering the class spectrum and one German sailor to boot. Collectively they have a little (not too much) expertise to be able to find rescue. The negatives of this bunch include the trust issues (or lack of trust) between the subsets of the group of surviors and this crowd is kind of a big one for the tiny amount of food and water supplies that remain unspoiled on the Lifeboat (1944).

Finn Wittrock, Domhnall Gleeson, and Jack O'Connell in Unbroken (2014)

Louis Zamperini and Phil Phillips from Unbroken (2014), who fought off sharks, starvation, dehydration, Japanese gunners and the nearly unbearable elements of the turmoil of the Pacific Ocean after being shot down in WWII for 47 DAYS before being captured by the Japanese and taken to an even worse hell.
