- Chinese-born character actor Robert Ya Fu Lee first came to the United Kingdom as an international student attending Trinity College, Cambridge. He started acting at the behest of his friends, and quickly became a regular fixture of British TV and motion pictures. His appearances include You Only Live Twice (1967) and Half Moon Street (1986), and his television appearances include The Avengers, The Chinese Detective and The Bill, but his best known role is as Taro Nagazumi, the Japanese business executive and English language student, in the ITV sitcom Mind Your Language from 1977 to 1979.

New Orleans-born Lee Dorsey was a former boxer who turned rock singer. He had a minor hit for a local New Orleans record company that resulted in a contract with Fury Records, a nationally distributed label. In 1961 he recorded the catchy "Ya Ya", which went to the #1 spot on the US charts. A follow-up record, "Do-Re-Mi", was a smaller hit. It wasn't until 1965, however, that he had another hit, "Ride Your Pony". The next year he had his biggest-selling record, "Working in a Coal Mine". That was followed by several lesser hits over the years. He still toured regularly, though, and in 1980 was one of the acts on The Clash's US tour. He died in New Orleans of emphysema in 1986.- Actor

Yuri Timoshenko was born on 2 June 1919 in Poltava, Ukraine. He was an actor and director, known for The Fall of Berlin (1950), Shtepsel zhenit Tarapunku (1958) and Ekhali, my ekhali (1963). He died on 1 December 1986 in Uzhgorod, Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, USSR [now Ukraine].- Spanish stage and screen actor. He was born August 31, 1918, in the village of Molinos de Razón, 120 miles northeast of Madrid. He began his theatrical life in school plays and made his professional debut at 17 in Madrid's Teatro Cómico. His first recorded appearance in a film was in 1940, in El milagro del Cristo de la Vega, directed by Adolfo Aznar. Throughout his career, he alternated work on stage and in films. He worked with several important theatre companies in Spain, eventually forming his own company with the goal of presenting important plays to provincial towns which had not had opportunity to see them. Acero was best known in films for romantic roles, although he played a wide variety. He died December 1, 1986, in Madrid.
