- Bobby Moore was one of the most famous English football players. From 1958 to 1971 he played for West Ham United football club. He played 108 times for the English national team, of which he was captain from 1964 to 1973. He won the World Cup with England in 1966 and was awarded an O.B.E. (Officer of the Order of the British Empire). Moore retired in the 1977, after six seasons with Fulham F.C. He died in 1993 due to bowel cancer. The whole country mourned for him.

Born in the Maritimes, Danny Gallivan became the voice of the Montreal Canadians in the early fifties on radio & then later on television. With Dick Irvan as his colour commentator, he was featured almost every Saturday on "Hockey Night in Canada". During Montreal's worst blizzard in the early seventies, he was one of the few people to make it downtown to the forum for a hockey telecast. He had walked from his home in the suburbs.
