- Still in Acapulco, due in part to Jacoby's bad sunburn, Gunn is asked by local police to look into the near murder of a U.S. diplomat's son. The emotional problems of the boy, the victims of a car wreck and a debt to a gambler are leads.
- The wife of an old friend asks Gunn to find her disappeared husband. The police seek him as he is a suspect in the murder of a witness against a top mobster. He used to work for the hood and Jacoby suspects there is still a connection.
- About to leave Acapulco, Gunn surprises and shoots an intruder in his hotel room who gets away. Local police determine the man is a mob hit man who's after a witness against a U.S. mobster. Jacoby hears the name and rushes to Alcapulco.
- A perplexed Gunn has a baby dumped on his doorstep. He finds the father is scheduled to testify against a crime czar who is hiding out until all witnesses are killed. Gunn sets himself up as a target to draw the mobster out into the open.
- A phony priest totes a Bible into a prison cell and presents it to a convicted murderer. The hollow book contains a gun, which the killer uses to escape. Soon, Peter Gunn is hired by an accident victim cloaked in head bandages, to find his brother. At Mother's nightclub, while Edie chirps "Eisenhower's looks give me a thrill". Mother helps Gunn piece together that the missing "brother" is actually the escapee's robbery partner who kept the take, ducked the rap, and went to ground. The police join the hunt for the deceitful partner.
- Jacoby goes for a night meeting with a tipster but it's a set-up and he is shot but lives. Gunn steps up and speaks to 2 informants but one is killed, the other scared off. The incorruptible Jacoby was up for promotion. Police involved?
- Ed Stone, a hard case whom Gunn helped send to prison, is paroled. Stone calls Gunn and lets the latter know he has little time to live. Ignoring Jacoby's suggestion to leave town, Gunn schemes to fight on his own turf.
- A bank manager robs his own bank after disabling everyone with knockout gas. When the manager's co-conspirator escapes to Italy with the money, Gunn is hired to track the man down.
- A Mexican immigrant's son is accused of killing a drug dealer. Lt. Jacoby feels the young man had a motive and the opportunity to have committed the crime. Gunn, an old friend of the father,looks into the case. The family business plays a part in the truth of what happened.
- Gil is due to marry a socialite but is blamed for a hit-and-run death and has no alibi. Gunn finds Gil's mechanic is linked to a gambler who holds IOU's from the socialite's brother who doesn't approve of his sister's upcoming marriage.
- A race horse owner hires Gunn to find out who murdered his longtime trainer. The main suspect, a race fixer, wants Gunn to prove he didn't do it. One of Gunn's contacts furnishes leads to an ex-circus strongman and a crippled jockey.
- The sole survivor of an armored car hold-up sends for Gunn from his death row cell. The convict tells Pete how to find the $700,000 after Pete agrees to turn over the reward to his estranged daughter without telling her where it came from.
- Back from Mexico, one of Gunn's "associates" tips him to a "suicidal type" woman. Gunn saves her life and pursues the case. Saving her a second time, Gunn is shot. Then a punk hood tied to her goes missing and Jacoby investigates the lady.
- A man takes out a contract on himself, so his family can collect on his life insurance policy, but when his money troubles suddenly disappear, he hires Peter Gunn to find and stop the hitman before he makes the hit.
- Sgt. Davis is accused of fatally shooting an unarmed derelict. Lt. Jacoby asks Gunn to help investigate the case and clear Davis. Davis claims he has been framed, possibly by an important hood he recently helped convict of mugging and murder.
- A teacher working after regular school hours finds a female student dead in the gym locker room. He is presumed to be a murderer by the irate citizenry and, worried about his life and reputation,he contacts Peter Gunn for help.
- An insurance company hires Gunn to determine the ownership of $500,000 worth of jewels which may have been stolen. They were found in an apartment of a murdered man who's wife now has laid claim to them. A disappeared bookie figures in.
- Gunn is asked by an old-time, fellow private eye to find out who killed his partner-before he is next. The murdered detective had been investigating a three-year-old,unsolved $500,000 bank truck heist. Lt. Jacoby suspects a polished hood but has no proof.
- A man asks Peter Gunn to find his daughter who recently got out of prison after serving a stretch for four years for involvement in a robbery. Complicating Gunn's investigation is the fact that other people are also interested in the daughter's whereabouts, including her accomplice who she never identified after being caught.
- After Edie discovers a male corpse in her shower, her finicky landlord threatens to break her lease. Leaving Lt. Jacobi to crack wise and console Edie, Peter Gunn pursues the killers, so she can stay and won't have an excuse to move in with him.
- June Holton meets Michael Delak in his apartment. She refuses his sexual advances then a shot rings out killing Delak. The woman contacts Peter for assistance after someone tried to run her over. Gunn guesses there is more to the story and she finally admits witnessing the murder of Delak. She then admits she intended to kill Delak after his rejection of her sister led to her suicide. Gunn speaks to a number of people including Rector the newspaper man, all confirm Delak was extremely disliked and a known player of women's emotions. On Rector's suggestion Gunn goes to the apartment and is surprised by the gunman, a brief shootout occurs but the man escapes. Gunn confronts Rector who then admits to the murder triggered by his wife's affair with Delak
- An alcoholic hires Gunn to keep him off the sauce for 12 hours so he can sober up and put on a good appearance for his daughter, who is arriving on a plane the next day.
- A Hollywood movie company comes to town to shoot a film.When a bit player is killed the police shut down the production.Gunn is hired by the Producer to find out what happened.
- After a body is found in one of his dryers, laundromat owner Louis Anza hires Gunn to make a deal for him to return $1,000,000 he and a partner stole eight months ago. The body in the dryer was his partner and he's scared he'll be next.
- A wealthy girlfriend of Edie has a son who asks Gunn to background check his mother's new husband. The boy has uncanny ESP and "knows" his mother will be murdered. Gunn is skeptical until the new "father" has the boy put in an asylum.
