- After earning a licence to kill, secret agent James Bond sets out on his first mission as 007. Bond must defeat a private banker funding terrorists in a high-stakes game of poker at Casino Royale, in Montenegro.
- Karel Bursík (Lukás Vaculík), as a child called Kajda, recalls his childhood spent in Prague - Zizkov. His father (Vladimír Mensík), a shoe-maker, moved there his wife and three children hoping they would escape a country poverty. He soon threw his daughter Vera (Zlata Adamovská) out of home; he did not like her relationship with a married man. The competition of Bata factory was unsurpassable for a minor craftsman Bursík and his neighbours owed him for minor services. The desperate Bursík sent Kajda to sell his mother's dresses to get money for food. In a second-hand shop, Kajda met his first love.

The elder girl is tearing through life in the fast lane - towards her first divorce. None of them realizes just how similar their problems are to those of their mother and brother, a brother they as yet know nothing about.
- The Mráz family is preparing for holidays. Parents are traveling to the spa and little Petr is going to the country to his grandparents. In addition, to the chaotic preparations, mother's friend is bringing a dog Blek. She wants Petr to look after it. Grandfather welcomes Petr and the dog with pleasure because he needs the ally against strict grandmother. Grandfather is not very skillful and thus grandmother often experiences troubles with his ideas.
- Year 1919. Young country girl Anna (Marie Tomásová) arrives in Prague to serve in a rich family of builder Rubes. She encounters Toník (Josef Bek), a foundry worker in the Kolben-Danek Machinery Works and active member of the social democratic party. He, his friends and her mate Mána (Jana Dítetová) teach Anna how to deal with her employer and about the class struggle.
