Even though the 41 year old D.W. Griffith had carved out for himself a profile as an epic movie maker, he still continued to make his regular films under the inspiration of Lord Alfred Tennyson and Edgar Allan Poe. He even managed another film after 'Intolerance' in the same year.

Mrs. Malarkey ( Kate Bruce ) a widow and daughter Molly-O ( Mae Marsh ) cannot pay their rent to Joseph McGuire ( Walter Long ) who is an agent for the man who owns most of the Irish county where they live. Sadly, Molly-O must now break off her romance with Larry O'Dea ( Robert Harron ) whom she believes drives a carriage for a living. She agrees to marry Mr. McGuire's son Denny ( James O'Shea ) with the promise that once they are husband and wife, she will never have to worry about the rent again. Denny convinces Molly-O to accompany him to an inn just before the wedding, when they are alone, he tries to seduce Molly-O. She resists his advances and hearing them struggle, Larry rushes in to rescue her. Soon he reveals that he is really Sir Lawrence O'Dea, Joseph's employer and the really the owner of all the property in the county. Now Molly-O and Larry happily begin making plans for their marriage.
This drama once again starred the popular pairing of Mae Marsh and Robert Harron. Tragically it now remains listed as unknown on the long list of lost silent films.
