The FOR THE MOVIE FANS column on page 2 of the Santa Cruz Evening News, Santa Cruz, California on Tuesday 14 May 1918 (Volume XXII, Number 12) lists the following item, probably from a United Press dispatch, "William S. Hart and his entire company were lost at sea for a period of four days recently during a terrible storm while on the first boat bound for Alaska for the season, upon which scenes for their next Artcraft picture, Shark Monroe, were made.
