- On his way to France, two dangerous gamblers, Rokoff and Polawitch, catch the eye of mighty Tarzan of the Apes. After catching them red-handed, while trying to cheat Count di Coude in a game of cards, Tarzan teaches them a lesson, unbeknownst to him that Rokoff is the wayward brother of Countess de Coude. As Tarzan embarks on a mission to rescue his old friend, Paul D'Arnot, who is in Algiers, instead, after a botched attempt against his life, the lord of the jungle finds himself in Africa, just in time to save his beloved mate, Jane, from the jaws of a hungry lion. Will Tarzan take his revenge on his enemies?—Nick Riganas
- As Tarzan returns to France on an ocean liner, he meets the villainous Rokoff. Tarzan catches Rokoff cheating at cards. In Paris, Rokoff hooks up with another villain, Clayton, and they try to put Tarzan in a compromising situation with the Countess De Coude, who is married to the Count De Coude. The Count discovers the pair in his boudoir, and challenges Tarzan to a duel. But Tarzan refuses to use a weapon, and the Count shoots wildly, unnerved by Tarzan's bravery. Later, Tarzan takes on eight hoods hired by Rokoff and Clayton, and beats them all. He boards a ship, trailing Clayton at the request of D'Arnot, who works for the French government. But Rokoff succeeds in knocking Tarzan overboard. Tarzan manages to swim to land, which just happens to be his private jungle. There, he re-establishes communications with his animal friends. Jane Porter and her father are passengers on another ship nearby, which catches fire. They are forced into the sea, and land in Tarzan's jungle. In the climax, Tarzan rescues Jane from a lion.—scsu1975
