- Jim's sweetheart agrees to marry him when he sells a dubious invention for $10000. His assistant schemes to separate Jim from his money--and his girl.
- Jim owns and operates the best garage in town, despite he needing a little prodding to get his assistant to do the work. Jim's sweetheart, the postmistress, isn't sure if Jim is *the* man for her. It isn't until a couple of incidents occur, including Jim coming into a $10,000 windfall, that she agrees to marry him. But that $10,000 windfall could be long gone with the arrival onto the scene of Kid Ryan, a boxer with the strength of an ox and who is Jim's assistant's ex-cell mate. Kid Ryan and the assistant hatch a scheme to swindle Jim out of that money by the assistant convincing him that Kid Ryan is a fake, and that he should enter into a boxing match with the Kid, betting that $10,000 on himself to win. The training, the boxing match and what happens to the $10,000 all lead to exciting times for Jim.—Huggo
- While his assistant naps, we meet Jim, a garage owner in love with the girl next door. When she rejects Jim, he tries and fails to end his life. That Saturday morning, she has plumbing problems, and calls Jim for help. Later, he gets a big check for one of his inventions, and his assistant convinces him to stake the money on a fight with Kid Ryan, a pugilist who's been chatting up Jim's gal. The assistant convinces Jim that the fight is fixed and that Ryan will take a fall, so Jim takes the bet. The fight begins, Ryan's not holding back, the assistant has the money, and Jim's sweetheart cheers him on. Is there any way Jim wins or is a fool soon parted from his bankroll?—<jhailey@hotmail.com>
