After an hour of not-so-surprising turns, all I can think about is eating a Monte Cristo sandwich.
Gooey grilled cheese with ham...I'm salivating just thinking about...
More important things, yes. The very first Untold Story to unfold on Once Upon a Time Season 6 Episode 2 belonged to the Count himself, or Edmund, as the Charmings once knew him.
Edmund: All I wanted was a fresh start.
Regina: And you can still get one.
Permalink: And you can still get one. Added: October 02, 2016
While I really wanted to get invested in the Untold Stories this season, I truly hope that they don't all play out this way.
Poor Edmund, just like the story, wanted to avenge the death of his fiance, but rather than finding a new love and getting a happy ending, as the Count seemingly should have, his story ends quite tragically at the hand of Regina. (More on that in a moment.

On paper, Battleborn—game development studio Gearbox Software’s big follow up to its successful Borderlands series of games—might sound like the studio is repeating itself. After all, Battleborn, like Borderlands, is a first-person shooter that freely grabs interesting ideas from other genres and repackages them into something with a distinct style and personality.
But that’s not very fair.
Games can be a lot like sandwiches—while technically, every sandwich is simply “bread with stuff in between,” there is a world of difference between a Monte Cristo and a Pb&J, with plenty of room for experimentation in between.

With a personality as flavourful as his career, Jon Favreau has been a firm favourite for as long as I can remember. The 47 year old actor-turned-director was the saving grace of Couples Retreat; added light relief whilst leveling the overall tone in the Iron Man series (which he both acted in and produced); and has harked back to his indie roots in his latest release, Chef.
So, when Shadowlocked was offered time with the iconic actor/director/producer, you’d of been hard pushed to find someone with more of a genuine passion for an interview. Unfortunately though, the PR in question didn’t agree.
Perhaps there were hungrier, more delicious invites for Mr. Favreau, or maybe it was decided that our entree sized application wasn’t worthy of the films mighty appetite. Whatever the case we missed out...and to this day I’m upset.

She received the coveted Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s Monte Cristo Award earlier this week for her outstanding work on the stage and Meryl Streep took a moment to catch up with GossipCenter at the NYC event.
While on the star-studded red carpet, the Oscar-winning actress revealed the keys to her success, stating its thanks to “Luck, [laughs] that’s a big one. Stamina, a sense of humor, not taking any of it too seriously and not giving up.”
After Streep's colleagues including Joe Grifasi and Judith Light praised the actress, they also played off the award’s title and revealed which toppings would encompass their personalized sandwich.
Former Nickelodeon President Geraldine Laybourne joked, “definitely slime.” And Meryl’s toppings of choice? “A lot of fresh, organic vegetables.”

Behold Monte Cristo – apparently Australia’s most haunted household and with its violent and grim history that stains it’s very walls, could you really blame it if it was haunted?
Author Phillip Muirhouse (Ian P.F McDonald) certainly wouldn’t blame it – in fact, he’s stopping by the place overnight to shoot a documentary on the hauntings to accompany his latest book on haunted areas and as you accompany him for the journey, you’ll find out just how haunted this household really is.
Muirhouse moves at a slow pace, letting the audience know the world, the history of the house, the characters and so forth.
Save for the actual horrific history of the house, there’s a lot of story here for you to chew on, as character development is thin and all you need to know is that guy investigates house.

It’s been 11 years since the 2002 version of The Count of Monte Cristo thrilled audiences with the adventures of the intrepid Edmond Dantes. An enduring classic novel penned by The Three Musketeers author Alexandre Dumas in 1844, the upcoming new version of Monte Cristo has the film’s director David S. Goyer amped up about bringing a new take on an old tale.
“During my career I’ve enjoyed re-invigorating and contextualizing classic characters that are relatable to contemporary audiences. Michael has written an excellent script and I’m going to enjoy bringing our take of the rich and textured world of Monte Cristo to the big screen," said David S. Goyer when talking about the upcoming project.
Set in France during the 19th century, the character Edmond Dantes is wrongly accused of high treason and is imprisoned in a barbaric prison on an isolated island, robbed of liberty, youth and love.

David Goyer, the screenwriter of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy and the upcoming Man of Steel, has signed on to direct a new big screen adaptation of the Alexandre Dumas classic The Count of Monte Cristo.
The movie is set up at Constantine Films and producer Jeremy Bolt, who is also a producer on the Resident Evil franchise. The script for the film was written by Michael Robert Johnson, and according to THR he's taken a "graphic novel" approach to story... whatever that means, but according to an insider it's described as a “19th century Dark Knight.” The book is already pretty fantastic! Maybe they'll add some of that gritty Sherlock Holmes flare to it? Here's what Goyer had to say in a statement,
During my career I’ve enjoyed re-invigorating and contextualizing classic characters that are relatable to contemporary audiences. Michael has written an excellent script, and I’m...

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that David Goyer has signed on to direct an adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' classic revenge tale for Constantin Films. Apparently Goyer's work on Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy and the upcoming Man Of Steel helped him land the gig, as word is that Constantin’s approach for Monte Cristo will be something like Warner Bros. take on not only their Sherlock Holmes movies but its DC characters also, with a source telling THR that a buzz phrase for Monte Cristo is “19th century Dark Knight.” “During my career I’ve enjoyed re-invigorating and contextualizing classic characters that are relatable to contemporary audiences,” Goyer tells the site. “Michael has written an excellent script and I’m going to enjoy bringing our take of the rich and textured world of Monte Cristo to the big screen.” There have been numerous adaptations of the novel, most...

Guillermo del Toro has attached himself to a new film project called Crimson Peak. Apparently it will be the next movie he directs as soon has he's done with his incredible looking film, Pacific Rim. The movie is an original ghost story that he wrote with collaborator Matthew Robbins. He'll be developing it alongside Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros who have been working with him on Pacific Rim.
Del Toro has said that the film is “a very set-oriented, classical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story. It will allow me to play with the conventions of the genre I know and love, and at the same time subvert the old rules.”
I've always enjoyed Del Toro's filmmaking style and I couldn't be more excited about him making another ghost story! According to Deadline he has a very particular vision for the film, and Legendary will...

One year ago - almost to the day - I was in Toronto, trying to believe that 40 degrees was “unseasonably warm,” as the locals informed me. But I was there for an actual reason: to visit the set of Mama, the first feature from director Andy Muschetti, based off his short film. Mama is produced by genre luminary Guillermo del Toro. Not content to just throw money at the project, del Toro was deeply involved in every aspect of the film, stopping by the set almost every day. This was possible because del Toro was already camped out at Toronto’s Pinewood Studios, working on his monsters vs. robots epic Pacific Rim. Being a gracious producer, del Toro “allowed” Muschetti a sound stage - while Pacific Rim occupied the rest of the entire studio.

Tagline: "The sins of the father shall revisit the sons." It has been over a year since this film fan has heard anything from Italy's horror scene. Not since The Shadow Within (2009) and Death of a Virgin (2009) has there been much from Italy that involves terror. That will change in 2012 when Monte Cristo Entertainment pushes for distribution of Michael Zampino's The Heir (L'Erede). Already released in Italy, The Heir tells a tale of family secrets and brothers fighting over a weighty inheritance. Even neighbours get involved. As the trailer below shows, characters will go to any lengths to secure their piece of the pie. This title will likely release in 2012. Release Date: 2012. Director: Michael Zampino. Writers: Ugo Chiti and Michael Zampino. Cast: Alessandro Roja, Guia Jelo, David Lorino, Tresy Taddei Takimiri i, Maria Sole Mansutti. As Warner Bros picks up a futuristic retelling of The Count Of Monte Cristo, Ryan wonders if we’re seeing the start of a new Hollywood trend…
Over at Variety, it’s being reported that Warner has picked up the script for another adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ novel, The Count Of Monte Cristo. It’s a film that’s already been brought to the screen many times, of course, most recently in the 2002 production starring Guy Pearce and Jim Caviezel.
This particular adaptation, though, is rather different, since it will update the 19th century tale to a rather more futuristic setting. It’s fair to say that Dumas’ novel, about a young man who’s falsely imprisoned, and then emerges years later, is potent enough to survive even the loosest retelling – Park Chan Wook’s brilliant Old Boy has distinct echoes of the book, even though it’s not an adaptation,...

In 2008, rock band Tokio Hotel beat out a quartet of pop stars — Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Jordin Sparks and Taylor Swift — to nab a Best New Artist win at the MTV Video Music Awards. This year the category pits nine-time nominee Lady Gaga against 3Oh!3, Drake, Kid Cudi and Asher Roth and, according to one of them, the contest is already over before the September 13 show has begun.
"I think Gaga's gonna take it," Roth told MTV News. "She's been killing it for however long now, so she can go ahead and have it. I'm not gonna put up a big fight."
