Jacques Lerner first played the role of François Faho, the traveling showman who pretends to be a talking chimp, in the stage play "Le singe qui parle", which premiered October 9 1924 at the Comédie-Caumartin in Paris.
This was Jack P. Pierce's first film as a makeup artist.
