When Ernie enters MacKelvey's office; MacKelvey lights up a cigarette and holds it with his left hand. But in the following cut after Ernie states he is a gentleman; he is now holding it with his right hand.
When Stephen is sitting down talking to his dad about being tight; he is holding a drink with his right hand. But on the next cut; he is now holding gloves with his right hand and then discards them while holding the drink with his left hand. Then on the next cut after that, he is back to holding the drink with his right hand and now the gloves are being held by his left hand.
When MacKelvey gets up from sitting on his desk after Ernie hangs up the phone with Lampier; there is nothing in the center of the desk. But on the next cut after Ernie discovers MacKelvey's note; there is now an open newspaper covering up the desk.
When Ernie is at the bar talking with Lorraine; he is smoking a cigarette. But on the next cut when she asks Ernie if he is starting to worry about her; he is now neither smoking nor holding a cigarette.
When Aaron Lampier is at his desk talking to an assistant and various folks on the phone; he is holding a pen. But throughout the sequence of cuts; the orientation of how he holds the pen changes with each cut. Now within the various specific cuts themselves; he always holds the pen the same way therefore one cannot say that he changed orientation when he wasn't in the shot.
When David's car enters a tunnel, there is a barrier right in front of a ditch that reads temporarily closed and danger. He is unable to stop in time therefore he crashes into it. However, this is factually incorrect. In reality, when a street or roadway is closed they will place detour and warning signs plus a barrier at a substantial distance before the construction site, therefore, providing a driver with ample time to stop and take a detour.
When Ernie arrives at the crash site; he approaches various officials who are surrounding the car to investigate. However, there are still small pockets of fire around the car. In reality, no one would be allowed to conduct any kind of investigation until the fire department has completely extinguished all the flames.
When David is driving his car through the rain in NYC; he comes across two street signs both reading Central Park West and West 81st Street. The only difference between the two is that one has Central Park West on the bottom and W.81st Street on top while the other sign has it in reverse. This is factually incorrect. In NYC one sign would only read W. 81st Street and the other sign would only read Central Park West.
When David's car is going through Central Park West and crashes a barrier; it lands in a ditch and then burst into flames. However, the car bursts into flames before it actually lands inside the ditch. In addition, the initial impact of crashing into a barrier was not heavy enough to cause such an enormous explosion of flames.
When Ernie picks up Lorraine at the club and is bashing back in forth in the parking lot in his car, the windshield of said car is obviously missing - to avoid reflections.
When Ernie and the various rescue units arrive at the crash site of David's car; a police officer reports that the flames were 50 feet high and that David was burnt to a cinder. However when they approach the car; it does not appear to have been scorched. Such a burst of flames would have turned the car into a rubble of smoked and burnt metal.
When Ernie arrives at the crash site; the Police officer is informing the reporters that the flames were 50 ft high. But the crash occurred in Central Park underneath a low height tunnel or transverse which is considerably way less than 50 feet in height.
When the New Jersey hotel owner enters David's room; he tells Ernie and the cops that someone has to pay for the door. But the cop next to him mouths some words that appears to be"shut up" but there is no audio or sound coming out of the cop's mouth.
When Aaron Lampier and his family begin receiving death threats; it turns out that Aaron's will has somehow been made public knowledge thus making the beneficiaries both the victims and the suspects. It is highly unusual for such information to be public knowledge. But nevertheless, if Aaron is alive and mentally stable then why wouldn't he change his will, make it private, and then announce that the terms of the will have been changed therefore avoiding all the death threats and accompanying drama? The film does not address this issue.
