On the set of The Devil's Party, the child actors were nicknamed Father McCarey's Chickens (for director Raymond McCarey), a reference to the novel and 1938 movie "Mother Carey's Chickens".
Laurel and Hardy fans will recognize Tiny Sanford, without his famous mustache, as the doorman at the Cigarette Club. He, director Ray McCarey, and Scotty Beckett all worked for Hal Roach in the 20's and 30's.
At this point in his career, Ray McCarey had directed Our Gang, Laurel and Hardy, and the Three Stooges. This was only his second straight drama, after "Mystery Man" in 1933.
Universal Pictures production number 910.
