Warning: Spoilers
When an envelope filled with cash ends up being dropped in the mail and going to the wrong address, the two employees (Kent Taylor and Edward Brophy) of gambler Richard Lane are given a deadline to retrieve it. By chance, it ends up in the hands of secretary/companion June Lang who works for the demanding Cora Witherspoon, a woman who makes Florence Bates in "Rebecca" look like a saint. They show up at Lang's apartment to get the money back and find out that she spent most of it. This should be the end of the story, but unfortunately, there's another 45 minutes left to the movie.

An absolutely absurd premise, one of the weirdest screwball comedies of the 30's, and possibly one of the reasons why that genre became extinct for the most part. The characters are all wacky, including Etienne Girardot, Mary Treen and Horace McMahon, and with male characters named Dead Eyes and Bubbles, you know that you're not dealing with a script with a full deck. While the comedy attempts to be frenetic and fast moving, the funny spots are few and far between, the only bright moment when Lang tells Witherspoon she's quit. Other than that, this is a waste of good character actors in a film where the script should have been sent to general delivery with no recipient.
