Here’s yet another “inspired by true events” film , just in time for the somber Fall season. Somber, the right word for this one. Unlike this weekend’s other non-fiction flicks, it’s set in the not too distant past, not decades ago, but in this decade, the 2010’s. It concerns a group of men who regularly risk their lives, and often make the ultimate sacrifice, in order to protect their fellow men. And it shines a light on the families that must stay behind and hope that all goes well. You may be thinking that’s it’s another those on the front line, our soldiers overseas sagas as in the films The Hurt Locker and American Sniper. Well, these heroes aren’t on foreign soil, though they are on the front line, one made of flame. And with their special clothing and gear ,they could be mistaken for soldiers.

Welch continued working another 14 hours when Walsh, who works as the assistant to Mill Valley’s city manager, finally tracked him down on the phone late Monday night.

A 32-year-old Arizona landscaper has died after being attacked by a swarm of 800,000 bees. Six others were attacked, and at least two were hospitalized. Douglas, Arizona, Fire Chief Mario Novoa told CNN that his department answered a call Wednesday morning and found a massive swarm. Though the department is usually prepared for "bee calls," on this occasion, they recruited an exterminator. The exterminator found a three-foot by eight-foot hive in the house - so large the ceiling of the house had to be partially removed to access the hive. Based on the size of the hive, the exterminator said there were about 800,000 bees.

An elite crew of firefighters trained to battle the nation's fiercest wildfires was overtaken by an out-of-control blaze in Arizona, killing 19 members as they tried to protect themselves from the flames under fire-resistant shields. It was the most firefighters killed battling a wildfire in the U.S. in decades. The lightning-sparked fire, which spread to at least 2,000 acres amid triple-digit temperatures, also destroyed 200 homes and sent hundreds fleeing from Yarnell, a town of about 700 residents about 85 miles northwest of Phoenix. Residents huddled in shelters and bars, watching their homes burn on TV as flames lit up the night sky in the forest above the town.

A mother of three made a terrible mistake when she drove into a freight train as it was crossing the tracks — her minivan was struck and two of her kids were killed.
Tara Lewman, 25 and her son, Jordan survived the terrible accident, but they were taken by helicopter to Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Tara’s daughters, Erika, 4 and Kallie, 5, however, were thrown from the 2004 Dodge minivan and died.
State Patrol Explains Why The Mother Didn’t Brake
Iowa State Patrol Sgt. Scott Bright explained that Tara saw a stopped train on the tracks in front of her, so despite obeying the warning cross arms, she drove past the first train and into a different, oncoming freight train.
“She could not see because the train was blocking the view,” said Bright.
