Doreta : Madame, there's an Indian in the apartment!
Marianna Duval : Well, you needn't be so frightened. He's not an Indian. He's only an assassin.
Doreta : Madame, I'm very tolerant of the manner in which my employers amuse themselves. But when they start filling their apartments with naked assassins - I give my notice.
Marianna Duval : Use your head, Doreta. He's the fake policeman of last night.
Paul Boliet : [enters wearing a blanket and looks out of window] The police still have the block surrounded, I'll have to stay.
Marianna Duval : There, you see, Doreta. He has to stay.
Doreta : Well, I don't.
Paul Boliet : You'll earn the gratitude of the Party...
Doreta : I'm no Communist. I worked hard for my savings and I'm splitting with nobody - revolution or no revolution.
Marianna Duval : Doreta, hand me my robe. If the revolution's coming, I want to be properly dressed for it.
Paul Boliet : Where's the bathtub?
Marianna Duval : I thought Communists never bathed.
Paul Boliet : Fascist propaganda! Where's the tub?
Marianna Duval : In there.

Marianne Duval : Tell me one thing - how many people have you killed?

Marianne Duval : No children?
Paul Boliet : We don't count children.

Marianne Duval : How did you ever find time between revolutions to learn to dance so well?

Paul Boliet : [Lights a cigarette] Phooey, perfume! Is everything around here perfumed? Most people who smoke, smoke tobacco.
-
Marianne Duval : How do you know I won't break my word?
Paul Boliet : Hah! Women of your class have a sense of honor in everything except love affairs. It gives you a fake feeling of virtue.
-
Doreta : Do all communists eat like you?
Paul Boliet : Humph! In the days of plenty, provide for the lean days ahead. More butter!
-
Paul Boliet : What are these?
Marianne Duval : Socks. They go on your feet inside your shoes.
Paul Boliet : Kinda thin, aren't they?
Marianne Duval : Uh, huh. Silk!
Paul Boliet : Ah, yes. That's the stuff those worms are forced to produce for the rich.

Marianne Duval : [Pointing to Maurice] Officer, he's the man you've just called an over-stuffed sausage.
Paul Boliet : [Looking over Maurice] Incredible?
Maurice Duval : What's incredible?
Paul Boliet : That even a bad marksman could miss - there's so much of you.

Paul Boliet : I don't want you to think I'm ungrateful. I know I've caused you a lot of trouble.

Marianna Duval : I shot a banker in his little finger.
