It's springtime and love is in the air for everyone, except a dumb and lonely dog with a goofy laugh. He's charmed by a pair of birds in love, but the male warns him not to get too nosy. He then goes off to look for a girl, but the one he woos callously imitates his hayseed laugh and rejects him. He finally finds a girl named Daisy who doesn't turn up her nose. However, he doesn't seem to realize she's a metal statue instead of a real dog. When he kisses her, lightning strikes the statue at just that moment. He's now totally in love. Unfortunately, a vicious bulldog guards the property and the statue is taken away to be melted as scrap metal for the war effort.
