"Lux Radio Theater" broadcast a 60 minute radio adaptation of the movie on
October 19, 1942 with Bob Hope reprising his film role.
Although filmed during World War II, with a plot about a race to the death against Nazi spies, the words "Nazi" and "Germany" are never spoken in the movie. Bob Hope does come close when he calls the villains "nasties" in the climax, "nasty" being a vocal anagram of Nazi.
While singing "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" on the bus, Bob Hope imitates Bing Crosby's "boo-boo-boo" singing style.
The "Riverside" packing house seen very briefly when Bob and "The Blonde" come to the end of their freight train ride is actually the Glendora Sunkist Lemon Association packing house. Glendora is about 35 miles west of Riverside.
This film has a 100% rating based on 7 critic reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
