When the Large Dog squishes the Kitten between books on the bookshelf, the Kitten, in the shape of a book, is pulled out and has the title "Kitty Foiled". This is a nod to Kitty Foyle (1940), for which Ginger Rogers won the Best Actress Academy Award for playing the titular character.
