Sex & Nudity

  • Fairly mild, but rather risque considering when it was made.
  • One scene, in which two characters start fighting, and then begin kissing passionately could be seen as implying a sexual encounter especially since they are in a room alone by themselves.
  • Some women wear fairly provocative attire for the time period. Example: Janet Leigh's dress reveals cleavage and Eleanor Parker reveals her legs in outfit with nylons.
  • At one point, a woman's upper back is visible as she changes behind a screen.
  • There are veiled innuendos throught this film. One character (it is implied) is the illegitimate son of a Baron.

Violence & Gore

  • Frequent sword-play with both characters intending death to the other.
  • Several men are stabbed on-screen (one with blood) and during the duel scenes the characters cut each other many times with blood.
  • Much comic violence somewhat like what you might see in an old-fashioned cartoon.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Mild alcohol use throughout.
