  Detective Inspector Campbell : Miss Shepherd - I am only a mere man. I don't pretend to understand the tortuous workings of a young woman's mind.

• Miss Shepherd : I'm sure it was someone from the outside inspector - the staff are all very nice people.

  Detective Inspector Campbell : Women often are - until they're found out.

• Detective Inspector Campbell : I've a wee present for you. See that you don't hang it on the wrong peg this time.

  Miss Shepherd : Thank you, Inspector, that's very sweet of you.

  Detective Inspector Campbell : You know, you've got a clever head. More like a man than a woman.
