Sex & Nudity

  • None.
  • At least two kissing scenes. Davy Crocket's wife kisses Georgie Russel two times.

Violence & Gore

  • Rather intense tomahawk fighting between Crockett and a Native American chief.
  • Rather intense fistfighting between Crockett and another settler. A man's mouth is bloody after the fight.
  • The movie features Americans fighting Indians (Native Americans) and Mexicans, but nothing graphic is shown for the most part. In one scene, a colonel stabs a Mexican soldier in the back with his knife. In another scene, a Mexican soldier bayonettes an Indian in the back. There is a scene where scalps are seen hanging and a chief mentions and points at them.
  • Hardly any blood. In one scene, an American Indian's face is rather bloody from being beaten. In another scene, Crockett's head has some blood on it from being hit by a tomahawk. Georgie Russell is grazed by a bullet while trying to break through enemy lines from the Alamo, and blood is visible on his face.

Profanity

  • Two uses of "By the Eternal."
  • Racial slurs, particularly "redskin." A man labels a Native American man as "that savage."
  • None.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some drinking. Jackson pours two cups of strong liquor and shares the alcohol with Crockett as his houseguest.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • An alligator comes up directly behind Crockett as he is crossing a river, and he hits it with the butt of his rifle.
  • In an opening scene, Crockett is ostensibly trying to kill a bear by "grinning him down," but is unsuccessful. Crockett is shown falling backward from a bush with a knife in his hand, although the actual bear is not seen.
  • A Native American threatens to burn Georgie Russel with a torch. This scene may frighten younger viewers.
  • Scalps are seen hanging and are briefly mentioned but depending on the age of the children watching, it may go over their heads.
