Twenty-six minutes in, Rock Hudson enters the Hadley offices with a yellow pencil behind ear, but when he begins doodling while talking to Jasper (father) Hadley, he pulls a red pencil from behind his ear and uses it.
Lucy's lipstick color changes three times when she first meets Robert Stack, from orange-red in the office to coral in the taxi and pink-red in the airplane.
At the climax of the film, when Kyle is shown recklessly driving his car back to the family house, a white handkerchief can be seen in the breast pocket of his jacket. When he arrives at the house and exits the car, the handkerchief is gone.
When Marylee visits the tree where she and Mitch carved their initials in a heart more than a dozen years before, the carving is as crisp and neat as if it had just been made.
When Marylee insinuates that Lucy is having an affair, Kyle slaps her. However, Marylee begins to flinch before Kyle raises his hand.
