In the exterior shots, the judge's car is a 1954 Oldsmobile 98. But, in the shots from inside the car, the steering wheel, column, and gear selector are from a completely different car.
The Mexican smuggler tries to drive off in the sheriff's car and its tires are heard squealing on the dirt around the farm buildings. Tires only squeal on pavement like asphalt or concrete.
One of the youths throws a rock at the sheriff - and it bounces off the side of his face like the rubber ball that it is.
Since the purpose of a cotton harvester (as driven by Bob) is to harvest (pick) cotton, it isn't clear why the inmates are being used to do the same job by hand at the same time as the harvester. Also, it surely would have been cheaper for the other ranchers to use a harvester for their cotton crops, rather than paying Tropp 60% of their proceeds to pick their cotton by hand.
