- Wile E. Coyote's plans for catching the Road Runner involve a giant elastic spring, a gun and trampoline, TNT sticks in a barrel, and tornado seeds. The last of these schemes results in the Coyote being swept up by a twister and carried into a mine field.—Kevin McCorry <mmccorry@nb.sympatico.ca>
- The Road Runner is being pursued along a roadway by Wile E. Coyote atop a rocket. In the pursuit, the rocket's exhaust repeatedly runs into the camera, allowing the cartoon's title cards to be shown. The pursuit continues in full force, and the Coyote gains on the Road Runner, leans off the rocket and prepares to sink his utensils into the bird. As he does so, the cartoon pauses for one red arrow to appear alongside the Coyote's name and the pseudo-Latin name Famishius Vulgaris Ingeniusi, and then for a second red arrow to appear alongside the Road Runner's name and the pseudo-Latin name Birdius High-Ballius. The pursuit then continues with Wile preparing to deliver the final blow, but before he can make his move, he hits his head on the arch of a tunnel as the Road Runner passes through. The bird and rocket both come out the other side of the tunnel, where the Road Runner escapes and the rocket gets turned back around and comes through the tunnel towards its rider. The Coyote recovers from his jar on the arch and begins climbing down, but when he sees the rocket coming back towards him, he soon returns upwards. He gives a sigh of relief and dismounts the arch, but once he is back on the ground, he gets hit by an Acme truck.
Wile paces around a mountaintop when he runs directly into the Road Runner, who gives a "beep beep" and causes the Coyote's head to retract when he is scared into a rock ceiling. Wile chases the bird through a cloud of dust, but only succeeds in throwing himself into thin air. The Road Runner alerts the Coyote, who to his annoyance promptly suffers the effects of gravity. He succeeds in climbing back up the mountain, but no sooner has he done so than the Road Runner gives another "beep beep" from another plateau.
The Coyote uses a see-saw and rock to attempt to launch himself towards the Road Runner, but the rock breaks through the edge of the cliff and Wile slides from the top of the board down and through the hole, and falls in to what is almost the same spot as the previous time, creating a cross of coyote imprints in the ground.
Wile then sets up a trampoline on the desert's ground before proceeding to man a sniper rifle. He hears a "beep beep" from the Road Runner but doesn't see him approaching. The Coyote turns around and finds the Road Runner perched 20 feet behind him, so he turns the rifle around but finds no space on the other side and falls off the cliff again. As he does so, he is smiling in the belief that the trampoline he set up will save him, but it is to no avail because he busts straight through the trampoline.
The Coyote then orders a giant rubber band and ties it between two rocks in another attempt to trap the Road Runner, but the band is so elastic that it pulls the two rocks together while Wile is still in between them.
Wile then lights up a bunch of fireworks inside a barrel and bungee-swings it out into the open space above the road on which the Road Runner is about to pass, but the very edge of the rock on which the Coyote is standing breaks off and causes Wile to swing directly below the barrel. The rope begins to snap and the Coyote climbs up in an attempt to escape the calamity, but he doesn't make it off in time, falls to the ground and gets smashed by the barrel. Wile then has to escape his own security measure in the form of a nailed-shut lid, and he succeeds in hammering off all of the nails and climbing out of the barrel before he hides to wait for the explosion, but in his haste to escape, he forgot to check the lid on which the fireworks were set, and finds that he is still wearing the lid!
Next, the Coyote builds a high-wire structure and dons a wheel-head. He struggles to find his balance upside-down on top of the wire, even long after the Road Runner has passed him by. Finally he is able to let go of the rock, but not long after he does so, the wire snaps, sending Wile crashing head first into the ground again. The wire follows Wile down and drapes over a power line before one end of it falls into the Coyote's hole, resulting in Wile receiving a violent electrical shock.
Wile then attaches some TNT to the bottom of a high bridge and waits on the ground with a controller in hand. The Road Runner moves towards the intended target, but he stops just short of the bridge before it detonates, and sends the concrete falling directly onto the Coyote.
The Coyote's final plan is to trap the Road Runner with some Acme Tornado Seeds. Wile puts them to the test by placing one next to a small cactus and shooting a blast of water from a pistol at it. The seed turns into a tornado and sucks up the cactus as planned. The Coyote then drops a handful of seeds onto the road just before the Road Runner turns up. Wile fires the pistol, but it malfunctions, and instead of shooting the water towards the pile on the road, the water comes out the bottom of the pistol and lands on a jar of the seeds near Wile. The jar spins, all of the words on it disappear and the seeds that remain in the jar form a huge tornado that sucks the Coyote into it very tightly and takes him on the spin of his life, which culminates in a journey into an army mine field. Wile suffers from one explosion after another before the Road Runner pulls down the end-title card like a blind, with the text, including the words "That's all, Folks!", pre-written.
