Crakk Box Office Collection Day 1: Vidyut Jammwal’s Third Highest-Opener (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Prior to the pandemic, Vidyut Jammwal was taking 4-5 crore opening on a regular basis. His Commando franchise was set at certain levels, and then his Junglee, too, took a decent start. Then came the pandemic, and since films were not released in theatres, he diverted his attention to Ott, where his Khuda Haafiz: Chapter One did quite well.
He returned to theatres with Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2 and Ib 71, but then one missed the kind of opening that his films had been taking pre-pandemic.
Well, with Crackk, this wait has ended as it has emerged as the third biggest opener of his career. The film has managed to edge past Commando, though it is below Commando 2 and Commando 3.

I was 17-18 then and I used to do theatre. I didn’t want to do movies. But once my mother died, there was nothing left in Delhi.

One of Joy Mukherjee.s leading ladies, Asha Parekh, remembers him as a fun loving person and says shooting with him was like a picnic. Saira Banu described him as a buddy who didn.t take care of his health.Asha and Joy did four films together - Hum Hindustani, Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon, Ziddi and Love In Tokyo..All of them were super hits. I am happy to say it was a joy working in these films. He was a hassle-free, fun-loving co-star, kind and considerate. But he also had a habit of coming late on the sets, which I soon got used to,. said Asha..When we did Hum Hindustani together in 1960, he was a newcomer and I already had done films. We didn.t have any scenes together in Hum Hindustani, so we barely met. When we did Phir Wohi Di Laya Hoon, it was a different story.

Someone tells our boy-next-door Janardan Jakhad who is an aspiring rockstar that to be an artist, one has to bear pain. What pain does he have in life, he thinks to himself—his parents are still alive, he wasn’t beaten up or molested in his childhood nor did he meet with any severe accident. So, can’t an ordinary boy in the most ordinary situations in life be a rockstar? The film tells us—he can’t. Because Janardan Jakhad becomes Jordan and invites pain upon himself in the most unconvincing of ways and then ends up as—Jordan, the rockstar.

Dashing actor known as the 'Indian Elvis', he changed the face of Bollywood cinema
The dashing, debonair Indian actor Shammi Kapoor, who has died of renal failure aged 79, changed the face of Bollywood cinema with his first hit film, Tumsa Nahin Dekha (Never Seen Anyone Like You, 1957). The rock'n'roll-inspired movie turned the young actor into an overnight sensation and he continued to incorporate elements of western culture and fashion in his subsequent films. By dancing in the big musical numbers, the hip-swinging Kapoor bucked the Bollywood trend of a stationary hero. His boisterous sensuality and confidence made him irresistible to male and female fans and he became arguably the first male pin-up of the Indian subcontinent, a sort of "Indian Elvis".

"Actor Shammi Kapoor, the dancing star who revolutionised the image of Hindi film heroes in the 1950s and 1960s with his carefree and flamboyant personality, died on Sunday," reports the Hindustan Times. "The tall, athletic and green-eyed hero had his share of struggle before making it big. The recipe for his success was a makeover as a flamboyant yet lovable lover boy and an uninhibited style of dancing. The freshness and style saw him deliver big hits like An Evening in Paris, China Town, Kashmir Ki Kali, Janwar and Junglee (which had the 'Yahoo' chartbusting song). Sharmila Tagore and Saira Banu, who made their Bollywood debuts with him in Kashmir Ki Kali and Junglee, respectively, said they would miss the star who was 'high spirited and so full of life."
